These baseballs are made fine. They're sewn well and sized and weighted like a real baseball. The paint and markings are clear and have not rubbed off. These did not come with any instructions. The markings have abbreviations of the type of pitch they're for, but there ar enough directions or abbreviation key, making it very confusing for my younger kids and myself.

I was an aspiring pitcher back when I played little league and I remember having this same type of baseball when I was learning to pitch. You won't learn how to throw sliders and curveballs using these baseballs alone, but they can be a good reminder of how to place your fingers for various pitches.I like that these are a bit softer, being geared for young pitchers. That provides a bit of extra safety for the batters as well as the pitchers learn to control their throws. As a 3 pack, it's a good value as well as you're bound to lose one due to a wild pitch here and there. It may be a gimmick if you don't invest time to learn pitching beyond the grips, but for those who want to learn, it can help reinforce good habits.
