I used these for the first time yesterday. It made tuning a little more efficient. I hope they are durable enough to last many tunings.

I have tuned my Kimball console in the past, using other mutes, but once I tried them, they are an essential part of my tuning toolkit. What really made these mutes great, was that I used a razor blade, and easily made them work for my specific piano. Great value!

These are constructed of wood with leather tips and appear to be well-made without rough spots or any warping. I do not know how to tune a piano, but I want to learn, and I think these are a good start. The price makes these a good value too.

These were delivered exactly as pictured--an interesting take on the usual wedge-type of string mute.I found that they work quite well, owing primarily to their relatively light weight comparted to a traditional rubber wedge-mute. I can see why they were marketed specifically at upright pianos, but they work well on a grand, too. I will use them!!
