These USB type C connectors work well for locations where the connector wire could experience knocks or pulls that could damage standard connectors installed in most auto infotainment systems.

Please see my disclaimer for Vine provided items at the end of this review. These magnetic adapters initially seem to be decent quality, but I have had connection issues with them. One of my plug heads has the magnet glued in at an angle, which makes the connector not sit perfectly 90deg when the two ends are mated. This is concerning for a few reasons. The pins on USB-C connectors are very small, with not a lot of clearance between them. If a pin does not align properly with the pads on the mating adapter, and you get cross pin contact, that could send a voltage spike down the wrong wire or path, potentially damaging your device. And this is becoming more concerning with the higher voltages (20v-48v) that USB-C is now capable of.There is also the possibility of corrupted data if the connection is interrupted mid-write cycle to an external or internal drive. Multiple events of corrupted data could lead to an entire drive becoming corrupt, resulting in 100% data loss. (ask me how I know...)Another issue with these magnetic connectors is the robustness of the little plastic tab on the plug head that holds all of the pins in place. These have been known to crack and break apart over time. When the magnets of the connection grab the two plug ends and pull them together, that impact force (if not aligned properly) could damage the plastic tab holding the pins in place. Repeat damage could lead to the tab breaking off, and potential cross contact of the pins. This would be very bad, and HAS been reported by various users to damage their device. In some cases, the short causes the entire device to die.You should be weary of this possibility, and do what you can to mitigate these conditions. With the misaligned magnet in my set, erratic connection and random disconnects... I can not use these with peace of mind. The risk of damaging my high value device(s) is not worth the advantages these magnetic connectors claim to offer.Nothing against the brand or reseller of this product, but I can not confidently recommend these magnetic adapters with the dangers inherent to how they function. This holds true for any of the USB-C magnetic adapters of this type.Price: $19.99 (at time of order)Quality: MediocreValue: MediocreVine Review Program Disclaimer:My goal as a reviewer, as part of the Vine program, is to provide clear and informant feedback on product details that matter to YOU. These work as described. I am able to charge my laptop quicky and to do high speed data transfers. Note that you must have pd USB cords in order to charge quickly. I like the magnetic cords for both convenience and safety - you won't pull your laptop onto the ground or damage the usb port if you trip over your cord. I found that these were compatible with some other tips that I have. The advantage of these adapters is that you can choose whatever cord length you want, which is convenient. I prefer the angled connectors over the ones that stick straight out. It all depends on the position of your usb ports on your laptop. Of course, you aren't limited to using these on only your laptop, but that's what I use these for.

Price aside this item is amazing. My wife and I are using it in many of our plugs now. Very much recommend.

My wife uses these for connecting her monitors. They provide enough power and make setup and teardown quick and easy. They fit snuggly, connect with no issues, and keep the cables out of the way.

Easy to use, but minus one half star for the magnet being too strong. If I pull the charging cable squarely off of the magnetic insert, the insert comes along for the ride. Could also be my phone let's go too easily, but it happened with other devices testedRecommend tipping it off at an angle.Sturdy, and better than a cable that comes this way, so you can attach it to an existing cable of your choiceVery satisfied

My goodness these are super nice magnetic USB-C adapters. The magnet is super strong and they support 40 Gbps which is the highest I've seen for these types of adapters.Build quality is exceptional, they look and feel premium. They are a fingerprint magnet as well, which is the only downside in terms of appearance. They function perfectly and are highly convenient. Very easy to attach due to the strong magnets and they hold very very well. Yet they will break away reliably if you tug on them suddenly. Gives me peace of mind my MacBook Pro isn't going to fly across the floor if I accidentally grab my USB hub the wrong way.For the price you get 2 adapters and 4 USB-C plugs and a little plastic removal tool. A remarkable value for the money. Truly a masterclass in both form and function.

The magnet itself is decently strong, I will say though this one shares the same connector as a lot of the other 40Gbps magnetic adapters out there, so don't expect "magsafe/surface connector" level of robustness, but they work fine. They do work with 40Gbps when I tested it with a Thunderbolt 3 NVME enclosure, I couldn't test the "240W" claim (since these things are very much not USB spec compliant, I don't have a device that supports >100W USB-C power) but they do work with 100W USB-C over a 16in M1 Macbook Pro. The build quality is pretty good, you get 4 tips and 2 of the connectors in total for $19 (w/ a 10% discount) at the time of this review, which isn't a bad price. Overall, these aren't "proprietary" since it's the same connector as a lot of the other 40Gbps magnetic adapters, and works perfectly fine.
