Was buying these and they changed the type to non staggered. If you want safer passthrough connectors with less likelihood of failure or POE shorting use XL STAGGERED TYPE INSTEAD.

Perfect for diy Ethernet cables. Save yourself headaches using the pass through. Never had done this before so YouTube was beneficial.

I've been looking for a while for a RJ45 end that will work with the thicker coated direct burial wire and this one does the job perfectly. No other cat6 connectors that I've tried with this cable will push through or even get where I have a reliable crimp, this does. They are kind of expensive, but worth it IMO.

I was researching when I found TrueCABLE and their library of videos, information and products. I received help on 3 occasions prior to a purchase or entering an email. I don't encounter companies of this caliber often, so was it ever refreshing. Since I have purchased everything needed from them including tools. This network upgrade was way more than I ever bargained for, but with their knowledge resources and quality products, the job is almost complete (1 last cable to pull), I've come away better for it. They have earned my business and endorsement without reservation.

We purchased all trueCABLE products for our home ethernet network, including three 1000-foot Cat6A CMR/UTP cable spools, crimp tool, and these connectors. They're specifically titled "trueCABLE Cat6A Extra Large RJ45 Pass Through Connectors, Staggered, Unshielded (UTP) Modular Plug" and the maximum cable jacket size (7.30mm) matched the specs of the cable. So it must be the correct product, right? However, it turns out the "extra large" part refers to the conductor insulation diameters: 1.05 - 1.15mm. The trueCABLE Cat6A CMR/UTP has an insulation diameter of 1.02mm. To notice this you'd have to cross-examine the pictured spec sheets meticulously, or stumble across the Q&A answer from trueCABLE that specifies these are "not compatible with any of our unshielded Cat6 bulk cable" and are "designed for use with our Cat6A Unshielded Plenum cable." We found this out only after many weeks of frustration--cables testing as good, but not working when plugged into our devices, or working for a while and then spontaneously shorting out when they weren't even touched. There's one review here from a year and a half ago, May 2021, that describes the same 50% failure rate we've had and asserts, "They are addressing their product line to resolve ordering the wrong connectors." Obviously, they have not. The product title and description are just as unclear today as they were back then. Now we'll need to purchase a different package of connectors and re-terminate all of our male-to-male cables.

NEW EDIT: After not hearing anything from this review I found TrueCable's direct contact on their website (truecable.com for reference) and sent a very similar message to the one here. The NEXT DAY Don, presumably the face of the company, calls me directly and makes it right! The problem IS NOT with the heads. It's actually the cable used. But my cable is known to be good you say? How you ask? Well, TrueCable branded these heads as XL meant for a thicker conductor cable (for example the TruCable CAT6A Plenum Unsheilded with an insulated conductor diameter of 1.08mm). The cable I'm using (and perhaps many of you here with this issue) has too small of a conductor diameter causing the issues. Naively myself (and perhaps a few among us) figured 23AWG is 23AWG and that's that! I mean, not many companies making / selling cable lists the internal diameter of their conductors down to the MM. The reality is, even for a seasoned 15 year veteran like myself, there ARE in fact oversights. This was one of them! Don from TrueCable is sending me over the correct heads for my current Cable Matters CAT6 cable to replace what I bought here. I don't know about your experience but this is the first time a real person who knows what they're talking about from the company you're buying equipment and consumables from calls you, knows what's going on, how to fix it and makes it right for you. I was a Klein only guy for years. That has changed! Thank you Don and TrueCable!OLD REDACTED: I'm using these with Cable Matters CAT6 UL Listed CM Rated 23AWG solid copper wire, a Klein VDV226-110 crimper and testing them with the Klein LAN Scout Jr 2. About half the time after the initial crimp one of the two heads has failed requiring I go back, cut the head and recrimp. The ones that have survived the initial crimp tend to fail if manipulated a few times requiring I cut the head and recrimp. I consider the heads that survived or that have been fixed a failure waiting to happen. Perhaps it's the teeth used or the design of the head but something is causing these to be garbage. If you're on site with these DO NOT use them. If you're at home...pray they don't fail.
