Exactly what I was looking for to keep tools and recovery gear secure. As some reviews said, the mounting screws are a bit weak, so I drilled the tailgate and used nutserts. Worked perfectly!

***Update-first ride on a rougher trail and the lockbox ripped off the tailgate. I would not recommend this item if you plan to off-road with your Jeep.I researched a number of lockbox options for my Jeep Wrangler, since I keep the top off for the summer. The Tuffy tailgate lockbox was the best option that I identified. Install was easy - maybe 20 minutes by myself. However, after only a couple of rides on bumpy, gravel roads, two of the plastic pieces used to hold the screws at the top of the lockbox pulled out of the tailgate. In addition, one of the two hooks at the bottom of the lockbox bent the vent on the tailgate. I am going to try to use anchor bolts for a better hold at the top of the lockbox, but I am concerned that with heavy use off-road, that the lockbox will pull off of the tailgate.

It’s a good concept and works as described. Easy install even for someone who’s not a wrench. Only gave 4 stars because it’s all metal obviously so if you have loose items be prepared for a lot of noise from your items when you drive.
