Years ago I used glue. The gluing tape was tremendously simpler with less mess. Two tires, 10 minutes. Seems a little expensive.

Having bought a new bike with tubular tires, I watched the Youtube videos on gluing the tires on the rim and dreaded having to do that when the time came. I'm glad to say gluing is something I'll NEVER have to do! I installed my tires with this Tufo tape and it has performed flawlessly for several hundred miles so far. It has been subjected to very hard cornering and high temperatures with no ill effects. The rims on my bike are carbon fiber and for those who have to clean off the old glue, acetone works quickly and easily and won't hurt your carbon fiber. They simply are squeaky clean and look great, with all the brake pad residue coming right off, as well as any glue from previous glue on applications. I love the Tofu tape and highly recommend it.
