I bought this as a treat for myself to remind me of my days singing in choirs and I love it, the sound that it makes is really nice.

This was not quite in tune to A 440 hertz, so I'm not tuning with it, but it's a great tool for science projects.

I should have read the bad reviews but who would expect a new tuning fork to be out of tune? I checked it against several accurate elect. tuners and they all registered it the same amount sharp and not by a small amount. It's enough to hear. I returned it and will get a quality fork.

Super great buy. Compact but affordable! The tuning of the note is within a tolerable range. And a great tool to learn notes or to tune by ear.Great tip if you’re new to using these and it’s something I always forget, that after you strike the fork you must then press the hilt (ball end) on a hard surface to resonate.

I like it but I need to put it by my ear to be able to hear a tone.

I am an elementary music teacher and purchased this tuning fork to use for an activity with 1st grade students about sound and vibrations. Unfortunately it broke while trying to use it. Then I had a class full of sad first graders. 😞
