The light clamp really loose, and adjustment really bad, the light too hot to melt the frame. Did you guys done any product test before put on the shelf?👎🏻

Fairly nice quality for price. The light only lasted a month and it melted the plastic and cracked the porcelain where the bulb screws in. It may have been too close to the filter. Fairly cheap to replace. Tank is a little small for our turtle who is about the size of my hand. He will outgrow it quick.

Overall easy, plastic on warming light is cheap and flimsy, we have had ours 2 weeks and the light does not work now, but the tank itself is ok. The landing pad will only lower so much, so you must keep a certain amount of water in the tank at all times.

This turtle tank kit arrived more securely packaged than any other product I have ever (ever!) received, bar none. The large outer box opens to reveal a second box of heavy duty cardboard held rigidly in place by upper and lower styrofoam sheets. Opening the second box reveals a third box, also protected from shifting and impact by styrofoam. Finally, inside the third box -- and guarded by even more styrofoam -- is the tank itself. I know I am paying a great deal of attention to the packaging, but I have noticed that when an item is well-packaged, it often turns out to be a good item. My theory is that the manufacturers only care enough about good items to provide really effective packaging. The tank looks and feels very solid. I know that the product listing information gives the thickness of the glass as 4 mm, but I still think in Imperial measures, and if anyone asked me, I would guesstimate the glass asclose to one-quarter of an inch thick. And yes, it is glass, not plastic. Resting inside the tank is another box, which contains all the accessories that make up the kit: basking platform; filter assembly; light holder, and bulb. And of course the Owner's Manual, which contains all necessary instructions. This Owner's Manual has impressed me in a very positive way. The text is a reasonable size for ease of reading. The diagrams are clear and easy to understand. The actual instructions are clearly worded and easily followed; in fact, I noticed only two very minor grammatical errors. The framing pieces, which serve both a decorative and protective function, are at the very bottom of the box, under the glass tank. The clear and mostly accurate English in the Owner's Manual does not carry over to the boxes holding the accessories. However, since the Owner's Manual contains instructions for the basking platform, the filter, and the light holder, the lack of clarity on the boxes does not matter. I wanted to be sure that everything was complete and in working condition before I added water to the tank and positioned the accessories. I started with the basking platform, simply because it has the most pieces. Following the instructions and diagram in the Owner's Manual, I was able to put it together easily and quickly, although I did have a couple of leftover pieces. One of these is a small suction cup, which I assume is just a courtesy extra; the other is about the same size as the "pillar" caps, but does not seem to have a purpose. The light holder is relatively simple; it clamps to the tank frame by means of a large, plastic screw, and the part that holds the light bulb is adjustable in order to have the best light angle on the platform. The bulb housing feels really fragile, and there is no glass or plastic cover over the bulb. But the bulb does work. The Owner's Manual provides helpful guidance on how much light the turtle should receive each day. The filter is almost completely pre-assembled, and the remaining steps to mount it on the side of the tank are simple and quick. The kit includes an extra filter panel. The Instructions on the filter box warn (I think) not to run the filter out of the water, but I just wanted to make sure that it wasn't dead, so I plugged it in very briefly, and it did hum in a satisfying way. That brings me to the frame pieces, which are the one real disappointment in this kit. Like all the other components, the frame pieces are plastic. But while everything else feels and looks at least fairly well made, the frame pieces seem to me to be cheap and flimsy. Once they are in place on the rim of the tank, if you don't touch them, you can't really tell that they are not the best quality, and they do work to shield and protect the edges of the glass panels. And they look . . . okay. The information on the product listing page gives the maximum water fill as seven inches. Since the tank is only 8.5 inches deep, that is about as full as I would want it, even if using it for goldfish instead of a turtle. Once again, the Owner's Manual gives guidance, suggesting that , after cleaning with clear water, the tank should be filled two-thirds full for a fully aquatic turtle, or one-third full for a semi-aquatic turtle. I did not see any direct guidance about the depth of a bottom layer of stones or gravel, but there is a diagram showing a tank complete with bottom filler and turtle. The Manual also recommends using a water conditioner, which is not included. This was the first I had seen about a water conditioner, and not having it at hand means that I must postpone any plans to move a turtle into the tank. Except for the water conditioner, I think that this kit is well planned to be easy and complete for the beginner. However, without the Owner's Manual, I think that setting up would be difficult and frustrating. The Manual also offers detailed advice on tank maintenance, as well as caring for the turtle inhabiting the tank. I find myself with the very clear impression that the person who created this Manual has a pet turtle, and that turtle is well loved. In my opinion, this kit does have a couple of minor issues, but is a good product, with an indispensably good Owner's Manual. PHOTO: A view of the triple-box packaging.

My lil guy is finally happy . I had him in those small death trap with just little water , no room to swim so this was perfect for him . Not too big , not too small . Just right size for next year or so then I will buy him a bigger tank of 20 gallon . I believe this is a 5 gallon tank . I switch him to a hospital wash basins to eat so his tank won’t get so dirty quickly . He already knows the routine . Perfect choice for my lil guy ;))

We received this tank kit today. We set it up and plugged the filter in. Then we plugged in the heat lamp. When I pressed the switch to turn the lamp on, it popped and began billowing smoke. After I unplugged it and the wire was cool enough to touch again, I inspected it and found four places in the electrical cord that had busted open. I am glad this happened when I turned it on and not one of my children. This could have caused a fire or injury! I am highly upset about this faulty and dangerous heat lamp. It is cheaply made, defective, and dangerous!UPDATE: The pump stopped working after 4 hours.

The tank arrives VERY well packed and protected, so it should reach you in A1 condition. It's a wonderful little setup, including its' own 'patio' area, and the all-important accessories of the heater and water filter.Apart from a turtle-in-a-tank however, there is unfortunately an elephant-in-the-room (*see below). The only things you've got to add (apart from the turtles of course) is suitable rocks/stones, plants and water. It's very well made, with the smooth-edged glass secured in place with the usual sealant, and an attractive wood-effect frame at the edges. It feels robust and pretty hefty, which gives confidence that it will last for many years, and leak-free.--------------------------------*The outer packaging is marked 'UK', which is something I specifically wanted to check... namely plug fittings... as the pics shown in listing are euro-type.Opening the lamp box, it was good to see a fused UK plug fitted. The filter on the other hand, has a euro plug fitted with a ridiculous 2-pin adaptor... absolutely useless (and potentially dangerous) here in the UK.In my uploaded pics, you can see this 'adaptor', and separately a 'see-thru' type which I keep here for testing items fitted with euro plugs (but wouldn't even use one of these on a permanent basis). My advice is to cut it off completely, and fit a UK-compliant type.----------------------------------Apart from that, it really is a smashing setup, and I like it a lot.Rating is easy... 4-Star as it is, but get the plug sorted out and it's a definite 5-Star.

This is the perfect size aquarium to start and learn how to take care of turtles. My 8 year old loves pets and recently wanted to have a turtle. Found this kit which comes with everything you'll ever need to keep your turtles happy. Comes with a water filter, basking area and heating lamp. We have several aquariums for fishes but this is our first one for turtles. Love the wooden theme cover of the glass aquarium, makes it look classy and me and my son both enjoyed setting it up. We had it settled for a few days and I think its ready to house a couple of red eared turtles that were eyeing to pickup from teh pet shop. We are thinking to add a substrate in the floor but it will all depend on how messy the turtles get, maybe a little harder to clean and maintain if there is a substrate. Son is very excited and definitely recommend for starters!
