In this kit you'll get the energizer box, 8 fence posts, 25 insulators for the wire and three spools of wire. You also get a carry bag. You don't get batteries for the power/fence energizer, you'll have to buy those yourself. It's a fairly complete system that's easy to setup but it just could be so much better. For $300, there's no reason that the energizer cant have a built in Lithium ion battery that's charged by a solar panel. Battery and solar technology has improved dramatically over the last decade and has also become cheap enough to be incorporated into a system like this. As this sits, it's a $200 system max.

Review of UDAP Bear Shock Outfitter Fence with 8 Four Foot PostsI recently purchased the UDAP Bear Shock Outfitter Fence, which comes with eight four-foot posts, with the intention of creating a protective barrier for my camping site. While the concept of the product is solid, I have several reservations that potential buyers should consider before making the investment.First and foremost, the fact that this fence requires batteries, which are not included, is a significant drawback. In an age where many outdoor products have integrated solar power options or come with batteries included, it's disappointing to find that this system falls short. It’s an additional hassle to have to source and purchase batteries separately, which can be particularly inconvenient when you are out in the wilderness. Moreover, the price point of around $300 feels quite steep for what you receive. Upon comparison with other kits on the market, I found that many competitors not only offer better pricing but also include batteries and even solar-powered options. If you were to part out this kit, you could likely create a more comprehensive solution, potentially with enhanced features and durability, for the same or lower price. While the UDAP Bear Shock Outfitter Fence does provide a level of security, especially in bear-prone areas, I believe it falls short in versatility, value for money, and convenience. If you’re in the market for a bear deterrent solution, it may be wise to explore other options that offer better overall savings and additional benefits. In conclusion, if you’re like me and value your hard-earned money, it might be prudent to look elsewhere before committing to this kit.

The reason I got this bear shock, is having either bear or pigs around my cabin and works just fine. Installation took about 1hr around fences I have by the barn which is easy. Furthermore, since it has high wattage, so works great on bear and pigs as well.

Electric fences have become a focus of camping in bear infested areas. This kit has everything you would need in one complete bag. The instructions are basic, but complete. The store page shows pictures of someone backpacking with it. I feel the kit it too large and heavy for backpacking. It is 12" long and 6" in diameter. With the 2 "D" size batteries it weights in at 6.8 lbs. For a backpacker, that is massive. For car camping it isn't really heavy duty enough. If I have the space in a car then I am going to pack better, taller, poles and a larger energizer.Overall, this is a good idea but I think it really falls short.

My husband and I could not figure out how to stop the bear from tearing and smashing our outdoor trashcans, until a friend of ours told us about a bear fence, so I was happy to find this. And the funny thing is that when a bear knows where a fence is or thinks there could be a fence around, the bear tends to revisit the area at all. We are looking forward to surrounding our trashcans with this fence this upcoming summer and we are confident that it will keep our 'trashy' bears away.

My camping trips in bear country are now more restful and this electric bear fence contributes significantly to this peace of mind. I set it up easily around my tent each evening and its lightweight design fits effortlessly into my backpack. The fence reassures me as I sleep and no wildlife disturbances interrupt my nights. I like its strong construction and the included carry bag keeps everything organized for my hikes. This fence is a dependable part of my gear and I will keep using it for safety in the wilderness.

I bought this because I needed a compact electric fence for a week long cattle drive where we setting up and breaking camp on a daily basis. I needed something light, portable, and easy to set up and tear down. I also do endurance racing (long distance horse racing) which takes place in forests and state parks so we camp there as well. This fence has been fabulous. ALWAYS test your gear before camping and ALWAYS pack extra batteries. BUT one set of batteries worked without fail for 6 days straight and then some (note: the fence was only set up at night and when I race, the fence is turned off while not occupied)Tips:ONE) uncoil all the line wrap them using paracord ties. While it seemed convenient and feasible to unroll all three strands at once, for repeated set up and take down its a giant pain in the ass. Its much easier to have each roll separate.TWO) for endurance racing, I purchased extra stakes of the non-collapsible variety to build a larger pen. If you're doing larger than 12x12, the provided stakes perform questionably, won't take much force to push them down.Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase. It works and the fence is small enough to pack down and be carried by my mule on the cantle. The photos are from the Great Florida Cattle Drive 2022

Ordered this for a moose trip in Alaska. Bear fence was a necessary defense for this remote hunt. Worked for one day and wouldn’t turn on after that. Changed batteries and still would not work. Of course my return date passed while in Alaska. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT, unless you try it out more than once before you NEED it. Very disappointed and scared that 10 days in grizzly bear country unprotected while sleeping. I hope to hear from the vendor. >$250 for less than 24 hrs working time is ridiculous.
