I used these on my Dad’s old Savage .270 which never had the white rings installed with the screw-in posts. Both posts had loosened so that tightening in the wood required turning past the point where sling was straight. It seems to have worked perfectly for both, but full disclosure: I haven’t had the rifle in the field since installing them. Will update after that if needed.
