While it does have the same threads on each end it is not machined the same on both sides. I wanted to use a #8 hose end on each side so I could crimp it into my line but that only works on one side. The other side is machined a little bigger and the oring moves around and would never seal right. So we had to weld the one side on. This works out as you really only need to be able to open one end to replace the orifice tube inside. The side that is serviceable is also in the direction of flow which is good.3 starts instead of 5 because the listing says you get a 3 pack which we were counting on but you only get one.

The original orifice tube didn't feel like moving since it lived there for 40 years.
