I had a different one previously where it would cap over the pipe it connects to. You could glue it, but I find the adapters deteriorate over time and break so I don't. Then the water leaks out around it and down the side of the pipe. I have one of them going through asphalt so that is not ideal. It causes water to go around it, and into the asphalt. Then freezes and causes the asphalt to move. This adapter avoids that and forces all the water into the drain pipe!

It fit perfectly, just a little larger than the downspout for easy fit, and just a little smaller than the drainpipe for easy fit. And it seems better than the old yellow hard plastic (and broken up) ones I replaced.

This was advertised as a 2x3x4 universal offset downspout adapter. The inside dimensions for the downspout are 2.55" x 3.35" and the diameter is 3.75". My drainage pipe fitting inside diameter is 4.2" which creates a hole slop of 0.45". The universal fitting spring clips take up approximately 0.5". Thus, the universal fitting freely slides in and out of the drainage fitting. There is a thicker (Genoa) fitting sold by Amazon that fits far better (when used with a 3" long piece of 4" pipe) and looks better (in my opinion). Assembly is slightly more difficult but the cost is less.

Marketed as 2x3x4. Not so. It is 2.5x3.5x4. Half an inch to large. If I had wanted 2.5x3.5 I would have ordered one that size.

This adapter fit into a 4-inch elbow and the downspout. This adapter feels sturdy yet still able to bend into position. Since the downspout and elbow were already installed, fitting this piece between them was easy due to the ability to bend the plastic. I used a couple stainless steel tapping screws to hold everything together. I am happy with this purchase and price is spot on!

Perfect replacement for an adapter that the snowplow broke last winter. This part is an exact fit for an offset downspout going into a round drain pipe having a 4 inch inside diameter - measure carefully! There are many different adapters with varying sizes, fits and offsets.
