First off, I tried something to solve a serious safety hazard at home and it almost worked; almost. These would have been perfect and the manufacturer/seller is not at fault in any way.We have a very dangerous situation at home related to the ON-OFF knob switches for our range. The range was designed with the knobs located in the front of the range which at first seemed to be safer than reaching over a hot surface to operate the knobs.Unfortunately, the knobs installed on our range are a cylinder with projecting paddle design (SEE PHOTOS) which protrude facing the area immediately in front of the range, exactly into the space occupied by persons in the kitchen. The slightest touch from a person walking by or a curious pet checking out the food smells can rotate the knob easily due to the protruding paddle. And, where do persons congregate during parties and family gatherings? In the kitchen! We have had three occasions where the range burner(s) have been turned on:• The first time it was by me bumping into the range while cooking with my wife. I brushed that one off as something unusual and that I need to pay better attention.• The second time it was at a party and a guest came to me to tell me one of our burners was on high and the neighbor thought it was dangerous enough to say something.• The third time was when a visitor was helping out in the kitchen and she must have accidently bumped the knob which rotated to a mid-heat level and melted a plastic storage bowl that was ready to be put away after washing. She had just stepped away from the kitchen when the smell alerted persons in the living room of an emergency situation.Since then, we figured out that the hazard was not due to a lack of attention, careless party guests, or any other human error - it was an inherent design failure. I now have to take the knobs off and put them in a drawer whenever we are not using the range.I have looked and looked for a style of knobs that does NOT include a protruding paddle and these little gems looked exactly right to solve the problem. Unfortunately the mounting hole is ever-so-close but not close enough to fit the shafts on the switches. It’s only a couple thousandths of an inch too small for celebrating. Due to the “D” shape of the mating parts I cannot simply drill the hole larger and epoxy mounting would present cleaning problems for future use. These knobs are a heavy duty metal construction (not plastic) and would be perfectly at home on our range if they fit. My failure to make these knobs work does not reflect on their quality.SUMMARY: These knobs appear to be a good product that for the right application would be appreciated during daily use. My ratings start at mid-scale 3.0 Stars. This item earns an additional 0.75 Star for heavy duty potential use; total 3.75 Stars. SUMMARY3.5-stars -- Acceptable product; a bit more shiny than the original Electrolux knobsBACKGROUNDThis came up as a Vine suggestion and it looked worth reviewing.INITIAL OBSERVATIONSManufacturing quality seems acceptable, but they were not an exact match for the original knobs on my Electrolux gas range. The original knobs had a more brushed finish and these are a bit more polished. So, instead of just replacing the one knob that was broken, I replaced all of them so that they would match.COMPLAINTS / ISSUESThey seem to sit a bit lower on the shaft than the original knobs. It wasn't so low though that you could not still operate the knob, but it was pretty close.IMPRESSIONSThey fit the D-shape shafts on my Electrolux gas range and look very close to the original. It seems like the female portion where the D-shape shaft fits into might be metal on these knobs whereas they were plastic with a small metal insert / clip on the originals. If that is the case, then I would have to say that these are actually made *better* than the original factory knobs.CONCLUSIONThe product seems acceptable and it appears to be an acceptable replacement for the original factory knobs. I will revisit this review in the future if one of them fails like happened with the original factor knobs. For now, I'm going to rate this as "slightly above average" (i.e. 3.5-stars), but I might change this in the future dependent upon their longevity.ORIGINAL AD DESCRIPTIONUpgrade 318569904 Cooktop Burner Control Knob*5, Compatible with Frigidaire Electrolux Range Burner Stove Knob, Compatible with 3514026, AP5809436, PS9495257, EAP9495257$39.99STAR RATING SCALE5.0 Excellent product (or perhaps customer service); There is NO room for improvement whatsoever; NOTHING is perfect, so this rating *should* be EXTREMELY difficult to achieve.4.5 Very above average4.0 Above average product; Something about it sets it a bit above similar products on the market.3.5 Slightly above average3.0 Average product; Meets expectations, perfectly serviceable, but does not do anything that sets it apart from similar products; Does not have some features that makes me say, "Wow, that's a neat feature".2.5 Slightly below average2.0 Below average product; Something about it is a bit lacking; It could be conflicted specifications or errors in the original listing or that it was arrived with damage that was unlikely to have occurred during shipping and should have been caught in either the manufacturer's or seller's quality control.1.5 Very below average / slightly poor1.0 Poor product; Waste of money at ANY price; Blatant lies in the original listing.0.0 Extremely poor product; doesn't work and seller either ignores contact attempts or takes an extremely long time to respond, possibly trying to run out the window for returning a product; possible scam seller; a seller or product has to screw up *really* bad to get this score:ORDERED:2025-02-03:RECEIVED:2025-02-05:REVIEWED:2025-02-05:ASIN:B0DLH54937Last Modified: 2025-02-05 22:33:11

These look like an improved design over the OEM knobs, which had a plastic female end that always breaks. These are metal and should be way more durable. They are a different finish though, shiny versus matte. So plan on swapping them all for a consistent look.
