This thing is awesome. It has a ton of power. I bought it to use for some small scale metal grinding and it gets the job done. It's pretty quiet too. 100% would buy again.

This is a nice little cordless tool that would be an affordable starter set for a hobbyist, or a second, portable kit for the toolbox of a pro. For the price, itâs a pretty good little setup. The rubberized body is easy to grip though not necessarily ergonomically shaped. The USB C-charging port means you can use any of the power chargers you have around for your phone, tablet, or other small devices. Note that a usb A-to-C cable is included, but a power supply is not. Also, the battery is not removable, so when it runs out you will have to wait to continue using it - you canât just drop in a fresh set and keep going. It does buzz in the hand a bit, so would probably not be a good choice for long work sessions anyway - youâd want a break to let your fingers stop buzzing. The molded case insert has places for all the included spindles and wheels, and while lightweight plastic and definitely not heavy-duty, should keep it organized and intact as long as you arenât too rough with it,All in all, a good kit for the price, for occasional use or as a portable spare. It does not say that the battery is LiOn, and I havenât had it long enough to test how long it holds a charge. If itâs NiCad or other cheaper battery chemistry though, it would mean you might charge it, toss it in your toolbox, and haul it out in a pinch 6 months later to find you need to charge it before use. Maybe it is LiOn and this wonât be an issue, but I would think they would advertise if that were the case.

First of all, this is not an 8v device. It is a 4v with a geared motor. Secondly, the device is so poorly designed that it is overtly noisy and overheats in a matter of seconds, eventually resulting in complete failure of the rotary tool.

I got one that wouldn't turn on and I called for help and they said UPS will pick it up and I got a new one the next day.

I have now used this tool on several jobs over the last weeks. The set choices for rotation speed (not variable with a knob) takes getting used to, but is OK. This simplification could be an advantage for those less familiar with small power tools. Torque and battery life were adequate. It is convenient to NOT have a power cord for this type of small tool.

Yikes! I will start with the good and only reason this is not 1 star. It still works and functions ish. It has a nice powerful motor and the included case and tools are mostly all ok. For the bad the speed adjustment buttons are some sort of rubber capacitive touch and will skip levels of power when pressed but it is completely random. there is no click or feel its like pressing on a rubber mallet. This will not charge with many modern chargers, and yes I am using the included cable it has no power brick. The charge indicator never stops and only goes to 3 so I have no clue if it is fully charged or not. The included wrench tool also does not fit you will have to find your own wrench. I will stick with Dremel and so should you.

Kit options:This rotary cool has some unique characteristics about it when it comes to what is included in the kit. For example, it has a ton of cutting disks which is awesome, because it means you can cut a lot of different things and have your disks break from time to time and still be able to cut. A drill can be used to replace a rotary tool for some things, but definitely not cutting. It also has multiple engraving tools, which I don't always see in other kits, which is also unique to rotary tools over a drill of less rotational speed. I also like the fact that there are many different grinder bits including some I've never seen before, giving you many options to grind at different angles. Other rotary tools don't have some of this bits. I wish there was one more of the disk cutting rods, because I've lost the screw that secures the disks before on a different rotary tool and it required me to buy a new kit and it's easy to lose a screw. It's cool that they have multiple attachment points in case you lose one. It's also nice to have so many different sanding wheels, which are actually attached so they're less likely to fall out. The picture shows a cone shaped engraver which is the one I'm missing from the middle row. Also when everything is inside the case, putting it upside down doesn't present issues and I didn't have messes pop-up.Rotary tool:The rotary tool itself has many speeds (6) and does have a great range of speed, which is an awesome characteristic. I did encounter a strange issue where the speed up and down buttons don't always function as expected. Sometimes, it would jump up multiple speeds at once if I pushed a button multiple times in a row and it wasn't responding at first. Also, if I press the button too many times too quickly, it seems to get stuck and doesn't want to response. I've found it works best when I pause for just a second before changing each speed, but I am able to change the speed after playing with it for a while. One thing that is cool about the speed for this tool is that it's an illuminated display of the speed, so it makes it really easy to know what speed it's currently configured at. I can attach bits by hand by holding the lock button and unscrewing a little bit and then pulling off or pushing new attachments in and then tightening it clockwise to secure it. Sometimes getting a new bit in requires turning it a little with a little pressure. One last thing that is useful is that it shows the power level, so you don't have to worry all the time if it's fully charged or not when you need it most.Summary:This tool has some unique features such as easy to gauge speeds, easily to gauge power level, useful attachments, and a great range of speeds. The missing engraver bit isn't too big of a deal, because there's another bullet shaped engraver similar to it anyways, but you may have to play around with the speed up and down buttons if end up confusing it with too fast movements.
