I am trying to contact product support to help me with a question about this item (Upgrade Aluminum Thermostat Housing for 1997-2001 Ford Explorer - 001-083ALU-D) I ordered it and one of the threaded sensors that comes with brown thread sealant is apparently epoxied onto the housing. None of the other suppliers seem to do that, and I thought it must have leaked when testing so epoxy was added. I had Amazon ship a replacement and it has the same epoxy. Before I decide to send both back and purchase it from a different supplier, I would like to understand why this epoxy was added. Is the threaded hole being machined incorrectly and it is leaking? Will it be able to be removed if it fails and needs to be replaced. Why is this being done? Also, you sell a cheaper version of this part, is that one also epoxied in? This part is very difficult to install, and requires removing the intake manifold and several wiring harnesses and hoses. I don't want to install a poorly designed or reworked part. I have attached a photo. Thanks.
