This manual pitter is designed to expedite the removal of cherry or olive pits from fresh fruit. Given that you’ll likely need to push out the pits with your weight, it’s not surprising that the pitter is positioned waist high is a great help. I found this pitter worked well for cherries but not at all for olives.I loaded the pitter with eight large, unpitted olives and attempted to pit them, but despite repositioning the pitter to waist height and applying my upper body weight, I couldn’t budge the fruit. I repeated this process with three olives, but no matter how I tried, I couldn’t remove the pits despite penetrating the fruit. I even tried different orientations, such as random and stem hole down, but nothing seemed to work. Olive pitting was a complete failure. On to cherries. I was much easier able to remove cherry pits even when fully loaded. The orientation of the cherries did affect the effort required and the quality of the pits removed, but it was still a significant improvement over using a paring knife. I’ll definitely continue to use this cherry pitter when fresh cherries are the main event. Now, it’s time to bake some cherry turnovers!

The cherry pitter is useful and does work for olives (I haven’t gotten cherries yet this season, so I don’t know how it does with them). It’s pretty self-explanatory and not difficult to use. Many cherry-pitting tools do one piece of fruit at a time. This device pits multiple olives or cherries at once, which is a real timesaver. My only complaint is that it’s not as sturdy as I would like, but it does the job. Recommended.

Wow--never knew I needed this multi smash cherry pitter in my life, but yeah, I totally did. Game changer for stuffing your face with cherries. Also, my toddler has always been meh on eating cherries which made me sad as I'm a huge cherry fan, but little did I know he just needed all the pits removed for him to up his cherry snacking exponentially. I do, however, think he's a little sad he doesn't quite have the strength to push the pits out himself, but he's getting close. It does take a bit of force and him using his full 40lbs body weight without a jam isn't cutting it. lol. Mom and dad had no problem, however. Speaking of cutting, kids can't cut themselves on this which is great as there's no knife envolved, only a plus looking plastic bit that shoves the cherries through. My only suggestion for improvement would be to have a twist lock mechanism on the bottom pit collector container as it just rests on top and we spilled a pile of pits, so you need to be careful with that.

I was excited to try this cherry pit removal tool - I have always loved cherry pie, but have thought that it would be much too time consuming to make from scratch. Then I saw this tool and wondered if it might make the process easier. The verdict? It definitely would - you do have to apply a good amount of pressure/ weight to get the tool to work. But, once you have a sense for how much, it's pretty easy to use. Cherries are my favorite fruit, so I bought some over the weekend as a special treat. Last night, I used the tool for the first time and took the pits out of 18 cherries within a minute or two. It made the cherries even more lovely to eat and has made me eager to try to make cherry pie or other cherry related desserts in the future.

I love summer cherry season and this was one of those items that I just didn't know I needed or wanted! From a needed standpoint, I am sure my dentist would approve because I always just popped a cherry into my mouth and used my teeth to separate the pitt from the cherry meat! Now with this little fella, I can easily prepare up to seven cherries (or olives) to eat with a one second push of the button! One question I had was if you quickly loaded your cherries and did not make an effort to see that the stem side is "up", would it still work as advertised? The answer is yes. It will still remove the pit without completely decimating the cherries! All parts of this tool are dishwasher safe so cleanup is a breeze.

Pros: This can pit multiple cherries at a time without making a mess. The pits and the cherries are all contained in the clear plastic parts so you don't have juice and pits going all over the place like when you use a single hand-held pitter. It is obviously faster and more efficient than pitting one cherry at a time. The clear plastic parts are easy to clean.Cons: The red part isn't the easiest to clean because the pins retract into the lid at rest and are only out when you press the button down. So to fully clean the pitting pins you have to hold the top down while washing. I also worry about mold/mildew building up inside those pin-holes because it is very difficult to get all the water out of the holes and make sure they are fully dry.You have to use a lot more pressure than I expected when pitting multiple cherries. My 6 year old can't do it on her own, and even my 10 year old struggles.Overall I like this a lot because it contains the mess typically created by pitting cherries, but I do wish it was a little easier to operate & clean.

I didn't know what to expect when I ordered this, but it works perfectly! Just load the cherries and press down to pit them. I love that it has room for 7 cherries, so I can easily portion how many I want to eat. It also has a compartment to catch the seeds and any extra juice for a no-mess experience. Just rinse it off and let it dry for the next time. You might have to use a little pressure to get through the flesh of the cherry, especially if you're taking them fresh out of the fridge. A really helpful gadget that will definitely have me getting more cherries in my diet.10/10
