My background is in aircraft avionics. That means I put anything with a wire in airplanes, helicopters, etc. How, ohhhh how would I have LOVED to have this twenty years ago. I have used every brand of soldering iron under the sun. The problem is, until recently, they all had cords, and if they didn't, they ran on butane and were awkward/more hazardous. This thing, is heaven. I didn't know what to expect, with it drawing from a dewalt battery. It blew my mind. The iron came up to temp fast, and maintained that temperature through the entire job. The tip is nice, and wicks solder immediately. It has an iron holster on the side, so a separate stand is not necessary, although I used one that has my solder and sponge. It sits on top of the batter, so it takes up little room. I did all my soldering, and had everything put away in less than 10 minutes..It feels like it is well made. The battery clicks in place firmly. The cord is made from a nice material. My only gripe is it does not appear to take standard iron tips, however, the one it has on it should do everything you would need a mobile iron to do.

I saw this for the m18 line and couldn't pass it up for my Dewalt batteries. Great little soldering iron station and portable

The display looks really good and it tells you the temperature live as it is heating up, which is a fun animation. Works perfectly with DeWalt batteries and has an automatic 15 minute timeout. The built-in soldering iron holster is a nice feature.

Like many, I have several DeWalt battery packs and most are sitting idle in my workshop. I also work on a lot of electronic projects and my Hakko soldering iron was my go to tool for this. It heats fast, displays temp, and is easily modified. This soldering iron is all this and its portable. This untethers me from the outlet and allows me to work on my electronic projects where ever I want or need to be.For such a small device, it has a lot of solid features. It has easy to operate controls through a push button knob. Once turned on, it displays its current temp and has a pause mode that activates when you put the iron onto its cradle. The temp drops down to 200°F. Importantly, it displays its temp even when in "pause" mode and when you lift the iron off its cradle, it heats back up to its set temp. If it sits in its cradle for more than 10 minutes it does into sleep mode. The tips are compatible with Hakko T-12 tips and there is a wide array of tip types available. The device has a convenient on switch on its side and uses energy at a rate where a standard 5AH battery has more than enough capacity for a 3-hour session. The tip that comes with it is a chisel style tip and it a bit broad for fine electronics but is good enough to get the job done.I will be buying more T-12 tips for this and adding it to my electronic project's work flow.

I absolutely love this thing! It's so much bigger and better than anything we've had before. What truly stands out to me is the smart temperature control—it’s seriously impressive. It heats up to the desired temperature in just 10 seconds, which is phenomenal. Plus, the range is incredible! It can go from 212°F to a scorching 932°F in just 8–13 seconds—I've never seen anything heat up that quickly or get that hot.The design is super well-thought-out too. The heating element screws securely into place, and the dial on the side makes adjusting the temperature so simple. I especially appreciate how it goes into sleep mode automatically when you place the handle into the iron holder—no need to turn it off manually when switching things out. The big screen with large green numbers is also a great feature, making it easy to read and even easier to take with me for on-the-go jobs. One thing to note is that it doesn’t come with soldering wire—you’ll need to grab that separately. But overall, the fact that it’s cordless makes it perfect for quick DIY projects and all kinds of repairs, whether it's appliances, circuit boards, or even work under the hood of a vehicle. Honestly, this has been a game-changer for me!

I recently used this portable battery-operated solder gun that’s compatible with DeWalt-style batteries, and it’s fantastic! It heats up incredibly fast, offers a wide range of adjustable settings, and is perfect for remote projects like driveway or marine soldering jobs. The cordless design is a perfect for mobility, and it performs reliably every time. Highly recommend for anyone needing a versatile, high-quality soldering solution on the go!
