When I opened the box I tested the battery and it read 12.53 volts. The battery in my ATV was not charged enough to turn the engine over so I installed this one. It started the ATV and it ran without a problem. As others have mentioned , the battery poles are reversed so I installed this new one backwards and I was able to use the original ATV wiring without modification. It even made the leads easier to work on. I got lucky in that the battery box cover was wide enough that I could reinstall it even though the battery was backwards. The battery has universal applications and is similar to many other brands and uses the same bolts that hold the leads. I found the same problem installing the leads that I have with other similar batteries. The leads on my ATV are thick enough so that the bolt doesn't pick up the nut easily as the nut sits at the bottom of the terminal on top of the battery casing. I had to do what worked for me in the past, I folded up a thin piece of cardboard and placed it under the nut which elevated it enough to allow the bolt to engage with the nut and then I was able to tighten down the leads. The cardboard I used was the thickness of cereal box cardboard. I like that the battery is AGM and relatively maintenance free.I was going to deduct one star because of the reversed terminals but all other aspects of the battery were 5 star and the company makes the same battery with the terminals reversed which would have fit correctly. I believe the battery I received to test just wasn't made for my ATV so I'm not going to fault the battery for that reason.Of course, time will tell if the battery performs and lasts as expected. If it presents problems in an unreasonable amount of time I will update this review.

I am using this as an external power supply for a trail cam, so can't speak to it's intended use for a scooter or ATV. I threw it on my charger overnight and checked it with a meter. Voltage was good. WIll update if long term use is not as expected.

Battery technology has improved almost beyond measure over the last fifteen or so years. Absorbent Glass Mat batteries (AGM) have major advantages over the old Lead Acid Batteries, invented in 1859, which were pretty much it for the next 100 - 150 years. AGM batteries hold their charge better (longer), don't require regular maintenance, and they typically don’t spill or leak if turned over or mounted upside down. But today AGM batteries are old technology. Lithium is the battery of choice for many people. Lithium is much lighter, holds a charge extremely well, and can’t spill out. However they cost more and have been known to explode under certain circumstances. Personally I don’t have a problem using Lithium batteries in my high tech, high performance, motorcycle but for other uses like my riding mower, two old motorcycles, the Mule UTV, or the 12 volt light system I put in a detached carport, I prefer the old AGM batteries. Mainly because they cost about 25% of an equal output Lithium. This battery is pretty much like most other available AGM batteries out there of the same output. (Thus the average rating) For any vehicle it’s fit and CCA (Cold Cranking Amps) that matters most. This battery is rated at 220 CCA which is too low for my old H-D but more than adequate for the old Honda 200, the mower, or the Mule. It would also work fine in my 12 volt, solar charged, carport. This battery is heavy, well constructed, and sealed well. If the size fits and the CCAs are adequate, this is a battery worth considering. It’s worth noting that the terminals are reversed so be careful and make sure you have enough lead length for it to work.My rating system:5 stars..... Very good, recommended.4 stars..... Better than average.3 stars..... Average, nothing especially good or bad.2 stars..... Less than average, not recommended.1 star ..... Junk, do not buy.
