My house was so hot, but I never really worked much from home anyway until the pandemic hit. Last summer was awful, it was much hotter inside than outside. I decided I needed a portable air-conditioner at least for my office which is facing west and get a lot of nice afternoon sun. Btw, the roof is dark gray/black asphalt shingles;.A couple of weeks ago when it was cloudy and rainy in San Diego, I decided to go install it. Even though it was cloudy the roof was still getting pretty hot. I had never put up something like this before so started out with a manual stapler. can't recommend that. My roof also has a very low angle, so it wasn't easy to navigate around up there.I a couple of 12-16 feet pieces and put them up one at a time. Hot, dusty and no space, it wasn't something I would want to do again, but now I started so I might as well finish it.As soon as the radiant barrier was installed between myself and the roof, you could feel that there was less heat in your face. I was healthy skeptical, but right away it helped. I should have done this so many years ago.I got the entire thing done over a few days and evenings and then there was no real sun for a few days. Summer had been cancelled. Typical. But then the sun came out and I was astonished of how well this stuff worked.I had a few hots spots that I eventually reinsulated, but those hot spots were about 12-14 degrees lower on sunny afternoons than earlier. Now my house doesn't even get as warm as outside with the door is closed. I come home early 2PM and open the door, it's about the temperature when I left in the morning. Ok, we haven't had any super hot days yet, but before the roof was heating up even on cloudy days. No more.Regarding the material, it's some fiber-ish threads covered on both sides with aluminum foil. It is very rigid, I doubt you can even rip it. When I installed it, I had to pull out a couple of staples and simply just pulled on the material, it pulled the stable out almost every time without breaking or ripping. Very sturdy I would say.Regarding doing the job yourself? Well, have someone help you and minimize the time you spend on the attic, it surely isn't a fun thing to do. But oh so rewarding.Highly recommended product!

One roll of this was sufficient to line the roof of my 1200 sq ft home. The material is strong but light, and easy to handle. Simple to cut with a knife or scissors, but difficult to tear. Staples into place easily and stays in place. Very reflective with extremely low emmissivity. I lined the inside of a metal roof (with a one inch air gap) to reduce the intense radiant heat coming from the hot steel roof. Very effective in keeping the house more comfortable on blazing summer days.

Very durable as advertised, but slippery like nobody's busniess, went through every sneaker, boot and shoe I owned trying to get traction to install on a 6 on 12 pitch and still almost slid off twice injuring my wrist. Ended up wearing water shoes I bought on vacation, on my way to even come close to grip. Be safe if u buy it

The one I was searching is alike but no the one I was searching for, I have a sample to supply for reference but I don’t see how or where to send it and get the identical product.
