M1907 Sling Installation Instructions

First, Ensure your Weapon is Clear! and Unloaded.

The M1907 Sling can be somewhat daunting at a first glance to the first time user. This photo series should help the novice decipher the "mystery" that is the M1907 sling and how to install it on a rifle.

The sling components:

There is a long strap and a short strap. The long strap has two small leather "keeper" loops on it.

STEP 1

Step 1:

Put the short strap through the rear sling swivel so that the metal O ring is nearest the stock and the side of the strap with the hooks is on the outside - with the hooks facing the stock.

Step 2

Step 2:

Take the end of the long strap that does not have a hook on it and slide it through the O ring on the short strap. Leave one of the leather keepers on the long strap, so its in between the O ring and the metal hooks.

Step 3: Slide the end of the long strap through the keeper you left on in Step 2. Hook the short strap just below the hook on the long strap.

Slide the long strap back through the keeper. Hook the front hook into the long strap.

Completed:

This completes the basic installation of the M1907 sling on the M1 Garand. The same instructions apply to the M1903 Springfield.

The M1907 sling can be loosened and tightened (dressed) on the rifle without unhooking the sling. This can be done by grasping the long strap at the top and bottom and sliding it against itself to loosen or tighten the sling. This portion takes a bit of practice as well as "wear" on the sling. A brand new sling will not move as freely as a well used sling. This simply takes time, oil and use.

Note: The M1907 Sling illustrated in this photo series is taken from Internet to ease out Sling Installation for our Costumers .

Please make sure your Rifle is Clear! and Unloaded and Enjoy your time .

Bought them anyway after reading the sling is too long reviews. Yes they are slightly too long and cannot be adjusted to full parade tight. However the leather seems really decent. One of mine has a spill stain with runs on it from dying the leather. Quality control must have been on break. The brass frogs shine really nice. The two keepers are nice n tight. It’s an ok sling for the price. Mounted it on a 1903a3. Looks sexy. The color of the dye is really good too. I think it looks better than the advertisement pics. We’ll see how it holds up. It gave my rifle some class. I’m happy with it.

The thickness of where the hook and leather meet is too thick to fit into the stock sling buckle. After pounding with a hammer, it went through, but lost a rivet in the process...

gave this to my dad for his M1 as a Christmas present. looks just like the real thing! my only issue was the rivets on one side of the belt weren’t all the way in, but after hammering into place on the workbench it’s fully functional.
