Good quality but doesn’t show how to use release. No instructions online. It’s not like a normal release I still don’t know how to really use it or it just doesn’t work! I had to buy a different release for it.

Great for the price. I would go electric in the future wish the clamp was a little wider didn’t fit my Searay sidewalks but engineer something different with a piece of wood between the seats... screw fastener on top of real broke first day but just replaced it w a nut... no biggie but the value is there.

Product was defective, return on 7-15-20; as of 8-2-20 still no refund. They also charged me to return it because I supposedly didn’t complete their form listing the product as defective.This downrigger came a part five minutes into the use of it and the coiled line was wrapped around everything on the unit. Not well made or thought out. Shave your money

This little unit is easy to setup on the boat, operate, and holds up really well. The turn is exactly a foot of line as stated in the details. We marked our line to verify and it matched pretty darn close. It also mounts very easy to the rail on a pontoon boat. I saw a blog where a guy suggested using wood blocks to help anchor it to the rail but we didn’t have this problem although it’s a great idea depending on the rail or gunnel mount on the boat.

I think I made a good choice after researching small boat downriggers. Seems to be made quite well H/D. Up to 6# weight! I have a 12' Gregor and will have to make a small block for more secure clamping. The photo is what you get! Good Luck!Added a couple of 1/2" beveled hard wood shims with a little J B weld sits nice and level on the rail. Took it out for a shake down cruse preformed perfectly using a 6# weight.
