My first impression of this laser pointer wasn't great. It feels rather flimsy despite it's large size, almost like it's mostly hollow aluminum and doesn't need to be as large as it is. The top cap can rotate and make some fun patterns with countless dots, but it falls off pretty easily. You can remove it completely by unscrewing it, but then I'm not sure where you'd put it to prevent losing it, assuming you haven't already lost it from it randomly popping off somewhere. It would be nice if you could screw it securely onto the bottom or something when not in use is all I'm saying. The button to shine the laser feels a little weak too, but the laser itself is bright and can be seen for a LONG way. I have another smaller green laser that is more rectangular, fits easily in a pocket, is about 80% as bright as this one despite being half this size with a longer battery life, and even has a small readout screen for the battery level and a normal flashlight LED, that one feels solid in the hand too. Now that one was also almost double the price at $25 whereas this one is "only" $14, but I guess it may have spoiled me a bit, but the difference between my favorite and this one being just $9 makes it difficult to recommend this imo. Regardless of that particular example, out of all the lasers I've owned over the years, I gotta say this one feels the second cheapest after than those dinky little red ones you get as cat toys at gas stations or whatever. Yes, it's perfectly functional and works as advertised, but I would personally say there are likely some better options at this price point.

This is a simple and bright green laser pointer. Why do you need a green laser pointer? Firstly, they’re cool. Secondly, green lasers are highly visible in a wide variety of lighting conditions. Green lasers show up well during the day, making them useful for outdoor commercial applications like pointing out things on a construction site. Green lasers show up extremely well at night, making them ideal for astronomy. This laser, for example, casts a bright beam that will be useful when directing a person’s eye toward a particular location in the sky. It’s obvious, the manufacturer did not put a great deal of effort into this pointer, but the quality should be good enough for most people. The pointer arrives with an adjustable star-field lens. It projects a bunch of green points. It is detachable. Here are the positives and negatives:Positives+ bright+ green laser+ lightweight+ lanyard+ plenty of range+ USB-C port+ dot can easily be seen with the naked eye for at least 800’ in afternoon light+ dot can easily be seen with the naked eye for at least 2,000’ at nightNegatives- jiggles when focusing head is loosened to widen the dot- short charging cable- loose power button- no instructions- non-replaceable rechargeable battery- no carrying caseConclusionIt’s a good low-end green laser pointer. My number one gripe is about the non-replaceable rechargeable battery. Rechargeable batteries are always nice until they run out and require a long recharge period before the next use. The saddest part about rechargeable batteries is that manufacturers put cheap ones in almost everything. They work fine at first, but performance declines over time. If a device has a non-replaceable rechargeable battery, that device was born with a death sentence. When the battery dies, the device will just become trash. Unfortunately, this laser pointer’s battery will one day die, and this pointer will become completely useless. I wish this had a replaceable battery, or even better, the ability to accept AAs.

Definitely getting use out of it. I run cables for HVAC controls and this is super helpful for pointing things out that I need to. Also doubles as a cat toy ;)

It's bright and great for pointing out things in the sky at night. Great upgrade from my previous model which had a micro USB port.

This laser comes with a starry night sky lens that splits the beam into thousands of tiny little dots that change by swirling around, converging, and separating. It looks really cool. Even when it is split into a thousand little dots it still looks like it might be too bright to be safe to look at the dots directly. With the starry night sky lens off all that light that was split a thousand different ways gets turned into a single super bright dot. I flash it for a fraction of a second on the wall and feel like looking at it on the wall for any longer than that might be too long. This thing is seriously powerful. Be careful. I would not use this for a presentation unless I was presenting from 1 mile away. You will blind everyone at the presentation. I didn't take a star away from the rating because it does say it is for "long range". It has no flaws except for being bright. I guess this would be good for bouncing of the little mirror on the moon. I don't see a use for this laser for most people though.Build: This is built strong with what seems to be an aluminum metal body. It's really light coming in at 69g. Nice. This also comes with USB C and a little plastic clip to keep the button from getting accidentally pressed. I keep the plastic clip on because otherwise the button really sicks out. Pack this in anything without the plastic guard and it will turn on in the pack or pocket.

The good:*The beam is very strong and bright.*USB-C for recharging the battery. The not so good:*The placement/design of the button - the button sticks out of the barrel and is too easily pressed. It would have been better for the button to be recessed.*The small plastic cover to prevent accidentally pressing the button feels loose, making it easy to misplace. The plastic also feels fragile - I think it can easily crack/break.
