I have a Samsung 8k2k ultrawide monitor (specifically, the G95NC 57" Odyssey Neo G9 Dual 4K) and recently upgraded to the M4 Macbook Pro, meaning I finally have a Mac that can drive the display at native resolution. However, I had initially been using a USB-C-to-HDMI-2.1 cable which claimed to support 16K at 30hz (more than enough bandwidth for my monitor). I have no doubt that the USB-C to HDMI cable did indeed support the specs it claimed, but what I didn't know was that MacOS has very limited and sometimes wonky support for HDMI over USB-C. So I was getting the full resolution, and 120hz refresh rate, but the color profile was messed up and I'd get errors saying the monitors color profile was corrupted and other such stuff. It also was unable to properly wake the display, and had other little issues along the same lines.Anyways, I did a bit of research and quickly discovered that MacOS has much better (and official) support for high resolution and high refresh rates via Displayport-over-USB-C protocol. So when I came across this cable, it was exactly what I was looking for.Indeed, I plugged it in and have been cruising without any errors or gotchas for a couple of weeks now. MacOS properly recognizes the display now, which you can see in the screenshot where the correct color profile was natively detected and loaded. The monitor wakes up and sleeps just fine, and I'm getting HiDpi at 120hz with beautiful and correct colors!Well worth it to make sure you have the proper cable if driving high-resolution displays at high refresh rates (i.e. 6K+ equivalent and/or 120hz). I imagine the same sleep and wake issues might also occur with HDMI at lower resolutions and refresh rates too, and in my opinion that alone makes one of these cables well worth it if you're frequently using your Mac with an external monitor.Bottom line - can't recommend this cable enough for MacOS users with external displays. 100% content with it!

I picked up this USB‑C to DisplayPort cable for hooking my MacBook Pro to a 4K monitor and it’s been a dream. Plug and play—no software hiccups, no flickering mid‑presentation, just crisp visuals right out of the box. I even tested the refresh rates for a bit of gaming (don’t judge), and the cable kept up perfectly at 120Hz on my 4K display and 240Hz on a secondary 1080p. It’s like feeding my monitor an espresso shot of data—everything’s snappy and jitter‑free. What really sold me was the build quality: gold‑plated connectors, a snug non‑locking design so I’m not yanking ports out by accident, and enough shielding that I haven’t seen a single interference speck. At three feet it’s short enough to avoid spaghetti‑ball desk syndrome but long enough to reach my desk setup comfortably. If you need a reliable DP cable for high‑res, high‑fps work or play, this one’s a solid pick. Five stars all around!
