I am a public speaker eager to test the new head-worn condenser headset microphone. I was delighted with the sound quality and the flexibility of the mic. The one I reviewed is compatible with the Shure transmitter. However, the microphone and audio cable don’t include a clip to secure the cable and balance the headset, so it won’t move quickly while in use. Nevertheless, it worked well without any performance issues. It looks and feels bulky around the ears but fits comfortably. I give it a four-star rating.

I bought these for a performing arts organization I work with. They have a couple of Shure BLX wireless bodypacks, one with a PGA31 wireless headset and one with a CVL lavalier microphone. I thought it would be good to have a second headset on hand since we don't usually like using the lavalier microphone.This headset fit the BLX wireless bodypack and worked fine. It's definitely a different (stiffer and lighter) fit and feel than the PGA31 headset. Compared to the PGA31, the Rannsgeer UVG20R seemed clearer and a little more sensitive than the PGA31. It was lacking in the lower to lower-mid frequencies which helps with the clarity but leaves a little something to be desired if you want a little more lower frequency warmth. It was also more prone to feedback than the PGA31.
