I liked my 8mm x 6mm coupler. The 6mm end had to be drilled out to fit a 1/4" shaft (1/4" is 6.35mm) but that was easy to do. This style of flexible shaft coupler only provides about 5 degrees of flex or about 1/16" of axial misalignment, but that was fine for my application. The coupler halves WILL separate if the motor shaft and driven shaft aren't attached to one another in some manner - there is no internal linkage. The two coupler ends are non-magnetic except for the set screws - and I much prefer this style of set screw which grips the shaft via compression rather than biting into the shaft radially. The set screws need a METRIC Allen wrench and I really wish one was included, but as it happened I had a metric combo set which had the necessary size.

I bought this coupler for use in my CNC project. I found myself in a situation where I needed a 3/8" to 10mm bore coupler but couldn't find one available. My solution was to buy the uxcell 8mm to 10mm coupler and drill out the 8mm side myself to 3/8". I'm happy to say that the quality of this coupler is way better than another set I bought that basically fell apart when I tried to machine them manually. I was able to drill the hole out to the larger size with no problems and so far it's working great in my CNC project. The outer diameter is smaller on these than the others I had tried but they seem to be great quality and I don't anticipate any problems. The other issue I had with the cheaper couplers is that the screws tended to strip out pretty easily when tightening. I was pleased that this one seemed to have higher quality hardware and I haven't had any problems getting them really tight. I would definitely recommend these over other brands. They're strong, look great and use quality materials. What's not to recommend?
