I like to do my own repairs, but always have been intimidated by cork replacement. This product, although touted as a "temporary" fix, lasts me a LONG time (about 5 years) of DAILY playing on my '60's era Buffet R13. They joint is tight and does not wobble. I needed a TAD of cork grease the first time I assembled it, but the artificial cork in general will NOT need to be greased every day. If you want to avoid the repair shop, I would give this a try.

These corks are Awesome for "in the field" cork repairs. Several different widths, plenty of length for lapping at the joint. A bit thinner than standard cork strips, but that completely avoided excessive sanding to get a fit. Better have a razor blade for trimming the ends, though. Adhesive has stood up to 5th graders assembly/disassembly for several weeks now, I'd say that's a winner!

I purchased this set thinking it will be an easy fix. Well, it is definitely easy to put on, however, the thickness is severely lacking, rendering the repair useless. I tried to double layer it, but then it got too thick. Overall, the corks are too thin and not flexible at all. Returning these and may just get a mouthpiece instead.

This product is great for emergencies only. It's very thin compared to regular joint cork. If you're replacing your cork and expect to have the same the same quality cork as before don't buy this one. This cork comes with adhesive on it, if your looking for an easy fix and your on a time frame go ahead and buy it, but just know that it leaves lots of glue residue after taking it off, plus your clarinet joints will not be secured (they are kind of wobbly with this cork). DO NOT ADD CORK GREASE! It's a synthetic cork with is really soft that's slides perfectly fine. After I was not satisfied with this product. I hope some finds this useful!

This is a great product. It installed easily, and is a perfect fit on my R-13 on the bell joint. The self-adhesive quality makes it a snap compared to messy contact cement. The adhesion seems secure. The texture is more uniform than real cork because the material is synthetic. No sanding was required. The minus one star was for the following reasons:No instructions were provided. I understand I may be the rare bird who never installed cork before. Fortunately my prior reading and intuition helped me install it successfully within about 8 minutes. Be sure to clean off all the old glue residue with mineral spirits. Get all possible residue out of the recesses of the tenon joint to assure as much adhesive surface as possible.Shipping took 10 days. This was not am Amazon Prime product although shipping was included in the price. It was purchased through Amazon from Brook Mays Music. It may have been back ordered, but there was no indication of this when originally ordered.

Nice Idea, but sizes were a little off. It would have been nice to know in advance if they were self adhesive or not. I would'nt have purchased the glue.... Way less expensive than paying the music teacher's buddy $150 plus parts!

Everything about these synthetic joint corks is good. Perfect sizes to fit different joints, easy application, and at a reasonable price. The price is especially reasonable considering how much I would pay a pro to do the job. I will always bring my clari to the pro for delicate work, but this is one job anybody can do on their own.Maybe it was beginners luck, but once I put the corks on they didn't need any trimming, except for the length, and they fit snugly without any cork grease. In fact, I don't even know if you are supposed to use grease with these, but they don't seem to need it.

I needed to replace one cork on my son's clarinet. One of five corks fitted the joint by the width. I would use other ones should it be a different width joint. Also, I think if needed, wider cork may always be cut more narrow to fit the particular joint. They all are long enough. These corks are artificial and have adhesive backing. So, it took me about a minute to install: no cork cement was needed (and I bought it together with the corks). Just wrapped it carefully around, cut the end with the blade to make a butt joint, tried to fit to the mating piece. The thickness happened to be perfect: no sanding was required. So, I just applied the cork grease to the new cork and assembled/disassembled the pieces a couple of times adding the grease. Right now I do not know for how long it will survive but the cork seems to be durable enough to last for a while. The product is great but the description of the corks could be more detailed. This would help do-it-yourselfers who are not professionals. I would add to the description the following:- the corks have adhesive backing, no additional adhesives required.- the set includes one 3/8" wide, one 13/32" wide, one 7/16" wide and two 1/2" wide x 3 and 7/16" long (at least, that is what I received).
