The quality you would expect from Valterra.

RV hookups need a regulator every hookup. These water systems can't stand the pressure a home system can. Damage happens quickly and is expensive. Most regulators I've tried were either non adjustable or didn't have a guage. Or they couldn't stand much more pressure than the RV could. This one lasts the longest of any I've tried, about 3 to 4 years. It is made with quality, stands the pressure, oprates well, and has the features. Do not leave this or any other with a guage out in freezing temps.

8 months after purchase, with infrequent use the guage got stuck at 70 psi and water spewed out of the reflief hole. Very disappointed.

Do not go cheap when it comes to a water regulator as you will only be purchasing more often.

I've used numerous products for maintenance and protection of my 5th wheel during several years of full time RVing. When Valterra makes a competing product I always compare the other options to Valterra because of their higher quality. I know they often cost more too.I've had several pressure guages over the years and this pressure guage is easy to read and adjust. Previous guages have leaked, frozen up and become difficult to adjust in a short period of time due to inferior materials and workmanship.BUY A QUALITY ADJUSTABLE GUAGE. No one wants water leaks in an RV if they can be avoided by accurately adjusting pressure. Also, my wife lets me know when low water pressure affects her shower and rinsing her hair.

I’ve been using this to control the water pressure to my three-story house because my hoses kept busting a few years ago. I installed it and set it to my desired pressure and haven’t had any issues since. It is now going on five years without me touching it at all. The build quality is great, the water flows at the correct pressure but with full volume. It is designed to be easily adjusted with just a flathead screwdriver. At any price below fifty dollars it is a great value. I will be buying this for every building in my properties that needs its water pressure regulated.

Bought this to control water pressure before it enters our motorhome. I like the idea of being able to change the pressure as needed

I purchased this awhile back, I have used this multiple times with outstanding results. This is manufactured with a liquid filled gauge, that is not water filling the gauge from use as mentioned in some reviews. Gauges tend to be precision instruments it will handle a bit of use and handling but not much, or constant abuse. This instrument is well made and works as designed. There is no reason for constant or repeated adjustment. Before putting it in service, flush it for 10-20 seconds, turn off supply close off service side with a plug, a valve or even a kinked hose, set your desired pressure, and enjoy the peace of mind you get from knowing your equipment is protected from excessive pressure which is the purpose of this gauge. I rarely find products that I give five stars too. Shipping was timely, product is well made, works as intended, price was reasonable, user friendly, no bells and whistles added that detract from its intended purpose or ease of use. Checks all boxes for five star rating. Being as I'm an ornery old cuss I look for reasons to take away star ratings... I'm disappointed. I could and would recommend this product to a friend without hesitation.Update...This has been in service for more than a year, as I have given it a five star (grr)can't change star numbers, it is holding up to reasonable handling. It's held the 40 psi setting since its original setting. I was recently hooked up very high water pressure, at check in they even highly recommended a pressure regulator. I flush my filters and hoses prior to hook up, it was by far the most pressure I've ever encountered, the regulator held my preset pressure spot on

Solid build. Did what it said it would. I was able to increase pressure to a safe amount for my trailer without being limited to the 40 lb pressure of other regulators

Awesome product. Provides an accurate pressure reading of your RV water supply. Cannot raise lower than expected water pressure but certainly can allow for the optimization of pressure where the pressure is on the high side and needs to be regulated to protect expensive RV plumbing/water pressure systems.

Love the item, gives me more water pressure compare to the usual RV water pressure regulator without going over the pressure limit. My only issue is that it worked perfect the first time I was out camping, now it won't show me what the pressure is with the gauge anymore and I am out of luck to exchange it.

The 1117vp has been in use on my 40 foot fifth wheel coach now for weeks. I’m a full time RVer and this is the first time over years I’m able to control standing water pressure at 45 psi and still have a good water flow in the coach. When one adjusts this controller you must be careful and patient and understand that many RV parks will have varying water pressure during the day depending how many people are staying there and how much usage is in place at any given time. I found a time when there would be little to no usage of water and set my regulator at 45 pounds. It takes a few tries to get it right. Small movements of the adjuster screw is the trick and then wait for at least 10 minutes and watch it stabilize. During heavy water usage at the park I’m staying at now the gauge will show that I’ve dropped below 40 pounds but it’s best to leave it there because when hundreds of people stop using water, the gauge will then show that it stopped the pressure from going over my preset 45 pounds. I did experiment when I first got this unit and opened the regulator enough to find out how high the pressure goes where I’m staying and it went up to 58 pounds. I did this BEFORE I connected the water line to my coach. In my opinion, 58 is too high for RV water lines. Bottom line….. I’m protected against expensive water damage now and still have plenty of water flow in my coach to use all four water taps at the same time.
