Thumb measurement method
Step 1
Thumb knuckle circumference using a soft, flexible tape measure the distance around the widest part of your thumb knuckle
Step 2
Use a caliper device to measure the maximum width of your thumb joint
Use the ring size chart
1. Compare the diameter and circumference to the ring size chart.
2. Choose the circumference value first if the measured value does not match the ring size chart; otherwise, measure your new thumb once again.
Ware & Uses
Step 1
The thumb ring is elliptical, slide the thumb ring onto your thumb sideways and past your knuckle.
Step 2
Once pass the knuckle you will rotate it 90 degrees. The thumb ring should be too tight to pull over the knuckle.
Step 3
The ring provides the most comprehensive protection for the thumb.

Granted, this is my first thumb ring. But, it seems to me that, although the ring hole size is correct (I can put my thumb through the hole), the nook where you rest your thumb pad is ridiculously tiny for a large, Western, male hand thumb. I think they change the size of the hole but they have the same, tiny, Asian-sized thumb nook, regardless of the ring hole size. Until they fix this problem, I cannot recommend this product. It seems like it would be a good product, if they only had some vague concept of the shape of a large, male, Western thumb (other than the diameter of the hole).

I tried twice to get a ring that was the correct size, and finally I sent a message to Vermil, who went out of their way to make sure I got the correct size ring. I wish I had done so much sooner. Their customer service was fantastic. They were extremely helpful, and I now have a ring that fits perfectly. Sent me a size far too small, after using precision calipers to measure my thumb joint out. Waited forever for a product I can't even use. On top of that, it's certainly not ivory, but a resin plastic. Would not recommend.
