Easy to assemble and use, though the lid doesn’t fit quite right and fire comes out, the fire brick has already cracked after 3-4 uses, and the crucible is deteriorating kind of fast

After using a variety of home made charcoal powered furnace to do my metal work for nearly 20 years, I tried this gas powered model. It's a game changer. Melts metal fast (I work mostly with bronze), very easy to use, and no mess. I don't think I'll ever bother with charcoal again, except maybe to show students how difficult it is in comparison. Next purchase is the 12 kg model.

I needed a 3.25 x 2” aluminum round. I decided to make one instead of buying. I had plenty of scrap aluminum. Finding a spot to set up without burning the house down was tough. I put down some steel siding and a short stand with a piece of pizza oven stone under the forge out in the yard. This things sounds like a rocket! Lots of fun. Worked perfect..well not but it was usable..the casting..the forge worked perfectly! Had to machine the cast to make it work but I got it. Nice. Watched a lot of YouTube. Would buy again. Bought some pouring tongs..the $29 ones.

I recommend this to everyone I know interested in smelting, this tool comes with great instructions and it very well packaged. If your want to smelt brass, copper, aluminum, bronze your not going to have any issues with this
