I think this will be a deterrent to anyone with stoooopid/nasty thoughts..the flashlight is so so ,but the zapper,which is why I bought it shud solve any future problems.

It's a handy little stun self-defense device/flashlight combo. I can't speak to its power since I didn't want to test it on my leg. It's nice to have the flashlight included in a compact rechargeable unit.

This is a nice little stun gun. When I originally ordered it, I was thinking I would not be a fan of the small size, believing that with stun guns, bigger is better. How wrong I was.This little device seems to be well built. It fits nicely in the hand, it's easy to control and also easy to conceal if necessary. It has a small selector switch that slides vertically to thee positions: off, flashlight, and stun gun. When the stun gun option is selected, a red light turns on indicating it is ready. At that point, you just need to press the button above the light to activate. The device also comes with a small pouch for carry although it's nothing to write home about.In terms of operation, if this thing doesn't scare off someone threatening you, they're either deaf or really not thinking clearly. When activated, the device emits a potent electrical arc that is quite loud and bright. I was expecting a moderately loud electrical snapping noise, however, to my great surprise, this device is much louder and scarier than I had imagined. While I had also been half expecting the LED to activate in a strobe pattern, similar to the taser models of yesterday, it did not. However, in terms of an intimidation factor, it is not needed. The LED flashlight works and can be useful if you need one, however, it is nothing to write home about.While I did not run the stun gun to the point the battery was exhausted, I did notice after passing it around so everyone had a chance to try it out (extensively), the arc was a little less pronounced and sounded a little less potent (not sure how to describe this correctly). However, plugging it in to charge only took a couple of hours. When charging, there is a smaller second light on the side of the device near the charging port that lights up red when charging and green when finished. While I normally don't let new, untested, electronics charge overnight right away until I confirm they don't get too hot during charging, I accidently did with this unit once. Fortunately, it did not appear to get hot and I saw no indications that the battery was overcharging which is very good.While this thing is pretty awesome, if I was forced to find something to complain about, it would be the selector switch. I wish it would slide horizontally rather than vertically so that sliding it into a pocket or the provided holster would be less likely to accidently move the switch into the activation position. However, on my unit, the slider did seem to have positive clicks at each point and didn't slide so easily that this will likely be much of an issue. In my opinion, it's definitely not enough to reduce its score.Overall, this has been a very good find for me. Now that I've had my chance to play with it, I'm giving it to my wife to carry with her. There has been a rash of people following women around lately with unknown intentions and I want her to have every chance to get away if something happens. I've also purchased 5 more of these from the seller to gift to friends and family for the same reason. If you're looking for a very affordable tool to help protect yourself in this type of situation, this device might be worth a look.
