I got this bike chain for my son's ebike. Usually, he has to leave his bike outside and locked in a public bike rack where anyone can walk by. So, making sure his bike is secure while at work was very important.I was glad to know that this chain comes with 4 keys and wraps well around the bike bar.In person, this chain big and strong. We feel very secure that his bike will be safe and secure.

Gets the job done. Easy to unlock and to handle. Remember!!!! The key has to be IN the lock to unlock AND lock the chain.

I believe this lock would be a challenge to remove without the keys, but it is so heavy that I don't want to keep it on my bike. I guess if you left it somewhere you frequent that would work. If you don't mind the weight, I would recommend this lock

Every lock/chain can ultimately be broken if there's enough determination and time, and this lock is not any different. That being said, this appears to be a bulky looking, decent quality, durable, and tough chain, that is at a bare minimum a thief deterrent. Truly like others have mentioned the only "real" defense from a determined thief is an insurance plan. I would rather use this lock than put it through the "stress test," especially since they claim to have a Bronze rating from 'sold secure', granted this is the lowest rating they give bike locks. I have it weighing just over 2.65 pounds. Sold secure mentions locks at this level are essentially thief deterrents, as previously mentioned, and while they are somewhat obtuse in their ratings bikeradar states this about sold secure's bronze level "they're not suitable for long periods, quieter areas or overnight use in public spaces," so keep that in mind. Time will be the ultimate test of it's durability and anti-rust properties. It does say anti-rust, not rust-proof (which is next to impossible anyways), so just keep this thing lubricated and you should be good. The protective sheath is decent at it's job or protecting your bikes paint and possible dent (or crack if you have a carbon fiber frame). We'll see how this holds up long-term, in an area that is prone to rusting almost anything outdoors due to proximity of ocean. Overall, it's accurate to the description, fair value for the money. I don't have any issues recommending this with a few caveats, the main one being that there is no lock that is ultimately thief proof (at least that I know of) so if you're using this to secure a very high value dollar item, especially in an area known for bike theft, the best thing you can have is an insurance policy, and hope the thief left the broken lock on the ground to maybe make your insurance claim easier. Granted there are other locks (at least in the USA) that offer some type of monetary guarantee if their lock gets broken, granted I cannot vouch for ease of use or how it actually works as I've never had to use one yet, thankfully.

NOTE: This review is for the 8MM diameter heavy chain model, not the 3.8MM or 6MM diameter chain models. I requested and received for free this VIA VELO 8MM BIKE CHAIN LOCK last week to test it and give my honest opinion. Great heavy duty chain and locking system. You should have NO PROBLEM with the 8MM model and the strong materials used to made it. The 8MM MODEL is tough and heavy duty, you should have NO PROBLEM WITH IT. Has beefy fabric covering to keep it from scratching the finish on your bike or whatever you are using it with. I used this to chain my gas generator to my deck support beam so it didn't go missing while we are on an extended vacation last month. Mine came with three keys, not two keys as stated in the seller's ad. There is also a lifetime limited warranty.

I’ve tried 2 other types of bike locks. I prefer this one because it easily locks and releases. I found the rubber curled locks too tight to stretch out and the combination lock type was hard to get the number dial lined up. This one is easy peezy!
