It works. A little bit of jerry-rigging to get it set up just right for an SG. Ended up grinding down the collar on the included strap button washer and omitting the butt plate in favor of the towner end plate adapter on the inside with the felt ring from the end plate adapter to protect the wood.. Knowing what I know now, a B3-towner down bar is a more optimal solution, but this still looks better aesthetically.

It works an fits perfectly in my 2013 Gibson Les Paul Studio. The instructions that came with it are very simple. For me it was enough but might not be for everyone, since working with guitars should be done delicately as to not harm your instrument. So there are many YouTube tutorials that explain exactly what to do.

I love my les Paul, and my bigsby but the vibramate I bought camed with a defective screw. At first I thought it was my guitar, but then I switched the "good" screw to the hole and it easily screwed in. That was a big disappointing and stressful time. Lucky I repair it by cuting the end of it and worked perfectly, but come on! An imperfect/defective screw for a $60 product...

I wish I had known about this product before I drilled holes into my Les Paul. It is a great product! I had previously drilled holes into my Les Paul and couldn't finish the installation; one of the two screws that hold the Bigsby B7 down broke and a piece stayed inside the guitar. I thought my dream of having a Bigsby on the guitar was done. That was about four months ago. I recently heard about the Vibramate and it worked like a charm! It covered the holes from my previous installation attempt and the whole installation took under 10 minutes. I am a very happy customer.

So let me start by saying this is a pretty good product......I have a LesPaul Studio with P90's, an awesome guitar that I love dearly. If you love your LesPaul and you want to put a Bigsby B7 on it...do it.........Now to the actual review. Like I said the Vibramate is a good product......easy installation. Now what I didn't like about it was that it ruined the action of my LesPaul....Due to the thickness of the Vibramate you have to raise your bridge......if you like your action high, then no problem at all....I prefer mine as low and as even as possible.....I played my LesPaul with the Vibramate and Bigsby for a couple of hours and it wasn't bad.......Thing is I bought my Bigsby with the intention of not removing it.....Took the Vibramate off and followed the detailed instructions that came with my B7 and it was still easy....Perfection..........I would say this, if you want to put a Bigsby on your LesPaul with the idea of never taking it off, forget the Vibramate.....If you don't mind your action a bit high then by all means go with the Vibramate.......Me, I'm glad I removed it.

This review is for the Vibramate and B7 Bigsby both. I will mention several modifications that one may want to try that still don't change your guitar from stock. I put this and the Bigsby on a '73 Goldtop Les Paul Deluxe. This era Les Paul has 6-32 threaded bridge posts that screw directly into the maple top of the guitar. When I had the bridge off I noticed a slight wobble in one of these posts so I screwed it out. I was only 1" long so I started screwing it back in and it kept going in further and further into the top. I went to the hardware store and bought a 1 foot section of 6-32 threaded stock for $2.00. I needed a 1/2" to mount the bridge on to and I wound up screwing a 2" piece of stock bottoming in the hole with a 1/2" sticking out. Did the same with the other bridge piece so instead of a 1/2" in the top I had 1 1/2" inches sunk into the top. Way more solid connection. I also changed the original ABR style bridge to a $29.00 roller bridge from Stewart MacDonald guitar supply. The roller bridge has two allen screws that tighten onto the bridge pieces/posts to make a very solid connection. The Bigsby went on in seconds and the only other changes you may have to make is you may need a larger strap button on the rear where the Bigsby tail piece screws on. The additional hardware makes it hard to get the strap on the stock button so a larger button, like a Fender style and some washers to shim it out further will make it easier. It took longer to string up the guitar than to install once I got the other things sorted out. With the bridge posts changes and the roller bridge replacement my guitar is more solid sounding than it ever had before. There is no vibration loss from sloppy hardware. Now about the Bigsby itself. I love electric Neil Young and this is a huge part of his sound. The Bigsby works smooth, and does exactly what I expect it to do. 1/2 step bends and not much more, but that's all I need to play "Cortez the Killer". I put a little 3 in 1 oil followed by powdered graphite in the nut, work the Bigsby to get it in the slots well, and I'm in tune all night. I got both the Vibramate and the American made Bigsby from amplified parts for $175.00 total w/o any shipping charges. I'm happy. The Vibramate only works with the American B7. The imported B70 won't work with it. The only other thing is your guitar may not fit in the case as well as the Bigsby adds some height to your guitar, so you may be using a gigbag unless it does fit OK.
