I've built about a dozen downpipes and exhausts, and the interlocking male/female ring is a game changer. Not to mention the perfect recess for the pipe to sit for alignment for welding. Worth every penny.

I've heard you need to weld these with the whole clamp assembled and tight to prevent warping, so I did that just to be safe. To be honest, you'd probably be fine without doing that though. It's cool that these things can seal an exhaust without any kind of gaskets or seals or o rings.

While it’s not an official product review because I never had the opportunity to use it. I ordered this product specifically for the 2.5 inch and received the 2.25 inch clamps TWICE.The product that was received however was quality work and compared to other clamp hardware I have seen is completely stainless steel, including the lock nut (which will prevent the clamp from loosening). Sadly I have given up and requested a complete refund as a result. Hopefully you have better luck if you are looking to receive the 2.5 inch… but if you want 2.25 inch by all means the odds are in your favor.

This appears to be a great product but it is the wrong size. I ordered Vibrant 1490 (2.5") and they shipped Vibrant 1489 (2.25"). I notice another reviewer also received a 2.25".

It's not even the right size, it's a real vibrant vband, but they could atleast send the right size.

Product details never said this was a weld on product. Nice product if I was going to weld in place. Need to have one for builders that can just clamp on instead of weld on. 1 star is for the lack of info in details. The product itself seems great.

Vibrant makes great products. Their vbands seem to be machined well, have a quick release locking mechanism, grooves to hold the piping it connects to, and a male/female center tab that locates the two flanges when they come together. My only complaint is that, despite a $25 increase in price in just one year, this particular product of theirs is still made in India. At such a high price per unit, I expect to get American made, as some of their products are.
