This unit is all one piece that is very well built. The stand is welded together...WOW! I purchased a competitor's stand last year for my very heavy, 12 ft artificial tree that snapped in half, causing mayhem and disaster!!! I am confident in the ability of this stand to hold my beloved tree in place in all her glory! : ) Defiantly worth the cost!

Very disappointed- ordered for family tree trimming on Friday 11/23. Arrives however and it's missing the smaller insert for smaller tree trunks. so we can't put up the tree using this.
