These are the most high quality drill bits money can buy. They are the only ones I’ve found that can repeatedly drill hole after hole in thick steel. Just need to use from drill/tap fluid.

I picked up this set for some general drilling since my last set seemed to have been carried off. I'd never heard of the company but figured I'd give them a shot since they're USA made. The bit carrier isn't any fancy, but them bits themselves are great. From what I've used of them so far, they are extremely sharp and the sizes seem accurate. The machine work on the bits themselves is also really good; no burrs, weird grinds, or other defects. The bits seem straight and centered as well.If you're looking for high quality bits this is a great option.

These bits cut great through plain steel, but, then again, so do my bright-finish HSS bits. I bought these for drilling out broken bolts, and I busted half the set yesterday. I had an old 29 peice set of Milwaulkee cobalt bits, but after 15 years of use all the smaller sizes were dull. Since I don't have the skills (or the eyes) to hand-sharpen the smaller sizes, I thought I'd just replace them with these. These are far more fragile than the cobalts were. I'm looking for a better alternative for hand-drilling hardened steel.Update: I attempted to use the 1/8" bit last weekend and the cutting edge got thoroughly rolled over in mild steel. Not chipped, mind you - deformed. Somehow they managed to make the webs brittle and the cutting edges soft. I reduce my rating to one star. Don't buy these.

I do electrical work, and often have to drill metal boxes, plastic boxes, and pilot holes into sheet plastic for industrial enclosures. This set has the right sizes for common #6, #8, #10, and #12 screws up to 1/4". With chisel point drill bits from the big box stores, I had to use a punch to make an indent to keep the bit from wandering all over the place when starting a hole. With these split point bits I can just put the bit where I need it and start drilling. The bit digs right in and doesn't wander. I have used these for several months, and they are still sharp.
