I was a bit hesitant because of the price point of this system. Sound bar with wireless connection to the bluetooth speaker, which is wired to the rear satellite speakers. All for a decent price? YES! This isn't a "Review for an Amazon Gift Certificate" and I rarely take the time to review... but I wanted to let people know that this system is really worth it. Easy setup with LOUD and CLEAR sound. Maybe the audiophiles would go for a higher end system, but for a standard, easy-to-use 5.1 system this is a perfect balance between price and quality. I would order it again in a heartbeat and I'm recommending it to everyone! Don't wait for Black Friday sales.. this system is AWESOME!

Full disclosure - I'm Rebecca's dad, not Rebecca, and this is my soundbar. My main entertainment center includes a Denon 5.1 receiver with Bose front speakers, Sony mid & rears, and a Yamaha powered subwoofer. I wanted my other TV to have better sound than the cheesy built-in speakers, but in a simpler and cheaper sound package. After much research, I decided to bet on the Vizio 3651.What's in the box? There's a 36" long soundbar that connects to your TV either via HDMI or an optical cable. There's a wireless powered subwoofer with a 4" speaker. And there are two small surround speakers that connect to the subwoofer via RCA cables. There's a remote to control the system. And there are all kinds of wires for connecting everything to everything else - everything you need for any imaginable connectivity is included. How is setup? Pretty easy, actually. Plug in the soundbar & connect it to your TV and you're on your way. Plug in your subwoofer, connect the surround speakers, and turn on the TV. You're pretty much there. The rest is a matter of using the remote to get the sound balance dialed in to your taste. It took me about 15-20 minutes. In my case, I used the optical connection for simplicity. More on that later. How is the sound? Pretty good. WAY better than the native TV speakers. And it is true 5.1 surround sound. Here are some specifics.- The soundbar has plenty of volume and reasonably good tone. Like most soundbars, it doesn't really give you very good stereo separation unless you're sitting really close. Simply a factor of the L-R front speakers only being 36" apart.- The subwoofer delivers a lot of punch. It's a bit "peaky", meaning the bass tends to swing from thunder to nothing & back to thunder, instead of delivering a nice linear bass like my big Yamaha sub. But it definitely gives enough bottom end for you to enjoy an action flick.- The surround speakers work just fine, and have enough volume for you to enjoy the surround effect, as long as you have your front-rear balance set properly.- Overall, you can get a nice, balanced, full sound that will allow you to enjoy a movie or a football game. Does it sound as good as my Denon receive with Bose & Sony speakers? Are you kidding??? But it's a nice upgrade to the TV's sound for about 1/3 the total price, so it's a good value. Here are some features of the system, all of which are controlled by the remote:- Basic bass/treble control.- Balance control for the center channel vs the front speakers.- Front/rear volume bias, to get your rear speakers set at an appropriate level.- A "virtual" setting to emulate surround sound on older movies or TV shows.- Preset EQ settings for movie, music, or talk.- "True volume," which is basically a compressor/limiter to keep the volume level.-"AV Delay" allows you to adjust the timing of the sound to the picture.- A speaker test, which simply sends a test sound to each speaker individually.PROS:- Full 5.1 sound for the same price that most major brand soundbars are offering 2.1 sound.- Easy and quick to set up.- Everything you need is included in the box.- The wireless sub and rear speakers worked perfectly right out of the box. If you've ever had the joy of running speaker cable through your attic and then punching cable through your walls, you know how important the wireless feature is.CONS:- The subwoofer is a little peaky. I'd prefer a smoother, more linear bass.- The front L/R speakers don't deliver good stereo separation.- The instructions for the advanced features are a bit sketchy.- The display on the remote control is hard to read. It looks like the display on a cheap gas station calculator from the 80s.- I never could get the Visio and my 2 y/o LG TV to link up via HDMI. That's why I went optical.Overall, I'm calling this a pretty good value for the price. It's not a Bose system, but it ain't bad. This is a great way to get good quality surround sound, and without the hassle of running speaker wire for the rears.

I toughed it out with a dying 15 year old 5.1 sound system until it was crackling too much, decided to upgrade my Office/Gaming areaI just played 30 mins of BF1-- this is probably as important as a good screen for immersion, probably worth a lesser vid card to do this instead of one of the standard nearly-disposable 2.1 systems. The only downside is it is HDMI isntead of displayport. I've read SPDIF has lag, I didn't even try it. Plus I have no SPDIF output on my mobo and I don't like my USB SPDIF adapter. Luckily my second monitor uses HDMI and there is NO detectable sound lag with HDMI as far as I can tell and I'm a decent twitch-shooter.Great sound, great for movies and It'd be good for a medium to small sized room home theater setup. It's a total overkill for gaming but if you are waiting another year for a vid card update because the crypto currencies are making them stupid expensive, this is a good way to greatly upgrade your experience without more FPS.There is an "eco mode" -- I'm sure this may make it auto shut off. I turned it off so I'll never know I guess. I used some atlantic universal mounts to mount the satellites to the ceiling. Not very happy with the angle but the sound is so good I'm not changing it.

The soundbar and rear speakers are really impressive. They were super easy to install, and they come with every cable for what I would think is every possible audio input option a person can realistically want (optical, hdmi arc, aux, rca, etc...). The bass is very good (can easily get way too loud). You may have to change your settings, which I highly recommend you toy around with, this is best done using the vizio smartcast app.My settings go between music and movie EQ mode, where I like as follows:Bass 4.Treble 2.Center 8.Surround volume 12 (this really makes your rear speakers kick in for basically every type of content).Surround balance 2 (slightly boost the right speaker due to seating arrangement, but leave at 0 for centered seating, -1 and onward is for the left rear speaker).Subwoofer 3-5.Truvolume set to on (just normalizes audio volumes across all content I believe, so like a commercial won't be louder than a program you're watching.)As for a stand, I think the Atlantic PN77305018 is the best you can get for Vizio speakers. Someone had mentioned them here, and they're great. They are large enough to easily fit the rear speaker cables so they don't have to be wrapped around or left hanging.I have the subwoofer tucked behind me fairly well hidden but definitely heard where the very long cables to the rear speakers are hidden as well where excess cable is tied with the included cable ties. It's a pretty clean setup with very little wiring visible, and it didn't take much time to do so.I am yet to try out actual 5.1 surround sound content yet, as I have an old tv, but I have a new 4k tv on its way, so I'll be sure to do that, however it's making what I think is stereo audio sound incredibly immersive and very much surround sound in its own right. All in all, these are a massive improvement over any tv speakers.EDIT: A few days later, still works great. I also found out how to make my Direct TV remote control (RC66X model) pair with the soundbar, so I can at least do the basic controls of volume up/volume down and mute. You put the Direct TV remote into TV mode using the top slider, then hold select and mute at the same time, enter in 11758, then while that's going on, using the Vizio remote or app, press the learn volume+/volume-/mute buttons, so the soundbar is looking for another remote, and map it with your Direct TV remote using the correct corresponding buttons. I also reset my Direct TV remote first so I don't change the volume of the tv and Vizio soundbar at the same time, instead only controlling the receiver and Vizio soundbar.UPDATE 1/22/19: Still working great, however any and all issues I'm having are related to the app. It's frankly very inconsistent and slow and will regularly require restarting just to connect since it loses connection at random. Setup sometimes (I've re-setup the soundbar many times to fix issues) can be done super easily while other times it takes 2-3 attempts, and the aforementioned issues all relate to using the app to control the SB, which can throw it out of mix, since I do go between using remotes and the app to adjust the soundbar.I don't think it's worth while to deduct stars from, since I bought the soundbar, not the app, and the soundbar is still great.
