I bought this to replace the factory stone and it upgrades the grinder to very useful abilities, no need for water cooling in most cases , the wheel dissipates the heat very well. Smooth as silk grinding plane blades and chisels.

Bought it as a second CBN wheel with 80 grit. The other one I have is 180. The new one spins true with no vibrations but a bit narrow compared to my old wheel. It is also very coarse and removes material very fast. I use both Igor sharpening woodturning gouges. When grinding on this one, It shoots particles of metal quite big so you have to work gently not to grind gown your gouge…but it is very good for shaping tools. It also keeps the tool cooler compared to the 180 grit.

Bought a set (80 & 180) of these for a Rikon slow speed grinder. The arbor appears to be something less than 5/8 as you would need to press fit these onto the shaft to mount.

This is the best grinding wheel that I have ever used and it never has to be dressed. The supplier (Viking Mountain Tool Works) was VERY easy to work with. My tools have NEVER been this sharp.
