I'm using this as a headphone amp to drive a pair of Grados and I'm pretty impressed by it so far. It has some of the smoothness you'd expect from a tube amp and it works well with the Grados. I'll see how it works after it's broken in but out of the box, it's already solid. Not bad, especially for the price.

The Brzhifi Vol-65E mini tube preamplifier is well-made and is all metal construction. It comes with rca cables, plug-in power supply, and instructions. Connected the Brzhifi to a mini-amplifier, a separate DAC, small bookshelf speakers, playing hi-rez music files from a desktop computer. The preamp has separate bass, treble, and volume controls, they were set at the eleven o'clock position, as the amplifier also had tone controls. The input can be connected to a device using the rca cables or via Bluetooth by flipping a selector switch on back of the unit. The sound from the speakers produced a punchier and tighter bass with the tube preamp. The soundstage felt a little wider as well. Using the preamp for over an hour, the unit was slightly warm to the touch, but not hot, as the glow from the tubes were visible for the top vents of the unit. Was curious in how this preamp would perform in a larger system, so connected it to a dedicated power amplifier in my home theater system, playing CD's through a CD transport and a separate DAC. The sound was surprisingly good, as it was close to what it would have sounded like using the AVR as a preamp running the separate power amplifier. All the slam of the bass and details of the individual instruments were there. It was difficult to discern the differences between the tube and AVR's preamp section without numerous listening session switches. However, in comparison to an expensive tube preamp, the difference is a deeper soundstage and blackness of the background from the more expensive unit. Overall, this is a good value tube preamplifier that can holds it's own depending on the quality of the electronics/speakers in a system. Rated 5-Stars
