One of the better looking (and performing/CARB compliant) CAI for my '13 Avalanche. Ended up returning it as it doesnt make a nice seal on the side air port (youre still sucking in some engine bay air rather than mainly wheel well air), the box overall feels cheap for the price (rough and sharp edges) and that top cover is so thin and flimsy I ended up cracking it just screwing it on at the end.Having said that, its a good CAI. It looks good, sounds good and the instructions are clear. If youre careful and can look past the shortcomings, Im sure youll be happy with it.

I had been eyeing this intake for a few months and decided to go for it when I found out Volant was also offering a $50 rebate on it from October to November. My 2011 GMC Sierra is my baby, so I'm pretty finicky about what I install for parts. This CAI unit impressed me compared to the relatively cheap-looking units from other manufacturers. I like that the filter is a dry-unit (the oiled filters are garbage and do nothing but gunk up MAF sensors) and that it is enclosed in a factory-style airbox.Upon inspection of the parts before installation, I did get the feeling that this unit may be a bit overpriced for what it is. The overall quality isn't bad, everything fits properly and works as it should, however on the unit I received I noticed the top cover for the airbox didn't properly line up with the box and had to be trimmed. This wasn't enough to bother me very much, but for the price of the unit I expected a little better. Not too upset because with the $50 rebate, I'm satisfied. Full price and I'd have more to say.Installation was a breeze for a professional (ASE-certifed tech, dealer tech for 5+ years) but the instructions should be followed. For the people complaining they got a check engine light and driveability concerns after install-disconnect your battery, install the unit and then reconnect the battery. This is obviously going to let in a lot more air than the ECM is used to adjusting for and if you try to fire it up with the fuel trims from the stock airbox still in the memory, it's obviously going to run like crap due to a lean condition. I disconnected my battery and had ZERO issues. After install my truck (which has the 5.3L V8) was noticeably improved. The biggest difference is the sound level. A nice throaty growl between mid to full throttle. It's subdued and quiet when cruising, a plus in my book. The throttle response improved more than I expected. I no longer have to really put my foot down to force a downshift for passing power on the highway. Fuel mileage did not change, still around 18.6 MPG like it has always been. These things DO NOT add noticeable power. Hooked up to a dyno, you would see a difference. But when your cruising down the road in a 5,000+ lb. vehicle you WILL NOT notice a MAYBE 2-3 HP increase. But I knew that going into this. I purchased this for the sound factor and nothing more. Everything else it provides is just a bonus in my book.I will eventually be installing exhaust headers and a custom exhaust, this unit may make an overall difference once I've done that.

Great Product!!! Fitment is good, it's a little squeeze to fit the air box but other than that it's perfect. Great quality and really like the fact that it's factory looking. I instantly noticed a slight gain as soon as I fired the truck up. Major increase in throttle response. I have the power core filter and see no and feel no problems from it. I know it's kinda dumb they say it will last a lifetime without cleaning but I just figured after 30k miles take it out a replace it just to be safe judging the condition before hand. I highly recommend this product from Volant!

This is an affordable, essential upgrade for anyone looking to add some extra punch to their truck. Makes for a great first performance modification. I dropped this in my 2010 Sierra 1500 4.8L - noticed improved throttle response, shifting, and sound. You can truly hear it working opposed to a stock intake system. Don't expect monumental gains nonetheless. Looks great as well and a awesome compliment to the trucks dual catback exhaust.

Adding this intake was the first mod I've done to my truck and so far I love it. I installed it a few days ago and it was really easy. It doesn't really come with instructions, more of like a blueprint but it's so obvious what needs to come out, and what needs to go in that instructions aren't that important. I can't say whether or not this is getting me better mpg's because every chance I get I floor it because it sounds so awesome. Turn on the movie "Drive" and watch the first chase scene with the volume all the way up, that's what your truck will sound like. On top of everything sounding cool, when you pop the hood this intake really stands out and looks great. Overall I'm extremely happy with this purchase!!!

Pricey without a doubt, but the quality and response gain make it worth it.Install was easy enough considering there were no instructions at all. Volant gives you a diagram of the intake system and that's about it. The installation itself is easy enough, trial and error seem to work fine. Removal of the stock intake was probably more of a pain than the install but, overall pretty easy.My 2011 Silverado starts up sounding normal and drives normal but it does have a throttle response improvement under normal driving conditions. When I jump on it, its pretty loud and sounds pretty ****in awesome. Anyone would be able to notice the performance/response gain, I can definitely feel it.I'm glad I bought this and would recommend this to anyone looking for an improvement to throttle response. I honestly don't know how much, or if I gained any additional horsepower.Economy wise, It did seem like I was getting slightly better mileage, but now I can't stop gunning it. All things considered, I still love the rawr and throttle response. I can't seem to ease up on the throttle making my overall fuel economy ...not that great.F****** Love It!Truck specs: 2011 Silverado 1500 5.3L V8 W/Act Fuel Mgt 4WD Ext Cab LT
