My wife and I went on a 2+ week road trip through several southwest USA national parks and monuments (Zion, Grand Escalante, National Reef, Mesa Verde, Rocky Mountain, and Dinosaur) and used this cooler to keep our food cool. It's really not good at getting stuff cold in the first place, but it did a great job of keeping our refrigerator-cold stuff cool and unspoiled during the trip. When we were out driving, it turned out to be the perfect size for a few sandwiches, some 12-oz cans of almost ice-cold soda, a quart of milk, some other snacks and a Blue Ice brick we threw in after freezing it overnight to get warm stuff we put in cold. Paired with the ALITOVE AC to DC Converter 100V ~ 240V to 12V 10A 120W Power Supply (also here on Amazon), we took this cooler into hotel rooms to keep the cooler running while our car was parked for the night. There are three downsides to this little cooler. The first one I already mentioned: It may be good at keeping things cool but, be forewarned, it's not very good at getting stuff cool or cold. So don't throw warm sodas in and expect them to come out frosty cold. The second problem we ran into is the cooling element condenses water out of the air, and the water drips down on the contents of the cooler below the cooling element and fan. So stuff can get soggy if you don't wrap it up. It's not a lot, perhaps a quarter cup over two days, but dumping a tablespoon of water into a sandwich does not make for a happy camper. We quickly learned food under the cooling unit and fan had to be tightly wrapped. Finally, there is no drain in the bottom of the cooler. That means you have to take everything out and tip the cooler upside down to drain the condensed water out every day or two. (On the other hand, we didn't wind up with wet spots on our SUV's seats where we parked the cooler while we drove.

I bought this in January 2020 in preparation for a two-week road trip. Paired with an AC adapter, it worked great to move back and forth from car to motel without a break in cooling. Since then I have used it on many trips. Most commonly I now use it on camping trips with my trailer; my refrigerator does not run reliably while the trailer is in tow, so now I put my perishables in this cooler while in transit, then start up the fridge when I arrive at the campground. The cooler is the perfect size to fit in a backseat footwell of any of three vehicles I've used it in.Other notes:- When I have measured, it generally keeps 30-34 degrees below ambient temperature - not quite as low as I'd like, but low enough if you're using it in a "room temperature" environment or any setting that can be easily climate controlled, such as a moving vehicle.- I really like that the fan and heating/cooling assembly is in the lid, rather than on a side wall as is the case for many other thermoelectric coolers. This allows the unit to be used as a normal cooler with ice if electricity is not available. (The manual warns against doing this while the cooler is in operation.) It also makes it easier to avoid blocking the airflow with items in the cooler.- I do not unplug or turn off the cooler before starting the vehicle it is plugged into; no known negative impacts yet. YMMV.- The accessory plug can get somewhat hot when used for a prolonged period - especially in my AC adaptor - but never to the point of melting. I have read that sometimes such plugs get hot enough to melt when the electrical contacts have poor connections to the socket they're plugged into.- I have never used the heating mode.- The overall build of the cooler is quite durable.- The fan is quite loud, to the point of being intrusive in quieter environments, so plan accordingly.

This is basically a portable cooler you plug into your car or home adapter rather than using ice.Pros:-Lightweight-Quiet-No need for ice-No mess from melted ice-Just as cool as a refrigerator-Can be used at home with an adapter (not included)-Great for long road trips, hotel stays, a bedside cooler or long hospital stays-Can also be used as a heater to keep things warmCons:-The switch is unreliable.I used this cooler over the course of two years. It was handy for the period of time it worked. I wouldn’t consider the use heavy but I would I occasionally use it for several hours to days and even a couple of weeks nonstop without a problem.Recently, after just shy of two years, I was having some problems with it maintaining a cool temperature. The switch wasn’t functioning and was making a electric-burning smell. I unplugged it, and it wouldn’t start working again. I assume the switch is the weakest part of the whole thing. I never really used the warming function and can’t see a situation where I would. I may try to fix it on my own since I am handy with electronics, but I did think enough of the product to order a replacement.Overall, it is a good product. I just think the switch used may not be appropriate for handling this application for the long haul.
