An engine coolant temperature sensor measures coolant temperature. It does this through changing resistance and sends this information to the onboard computer. The computer uses this and other inputs to calculate the correct amount of fuel delivered. Symptoms of failure include no start, engine flooding, steady check engine light and/or poor fuel economy. Recommended service should be performed every 25,000 to 35,000 miles and consists of cleaning or replacing sensors that are non-functional. Walker Products began supplying the fuel system needs of the automotive industry in 1946. Review: ★★★★☆The Walker Products 211-1026 Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor has been a reliable choice for my vehicle. It installed easily and has been performing well since I made the switch.I appreciate the accurate temperature readings, which are crucial for engine performance. I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5 because the packaging could be improved for better protection during shipping. Overall, it’s a great product that does its job effectively and I recommend it for anyone needing a replacement sensor!

I purchased this temp sensor for my 2000 Ford F250 6.8 V10. After installation, the coolant temp gauge stayed on cold, even after many miles of driving. I ended up replacing this with an original Ford Motorcraft part and that worked perfectly. Because the package has been opened I cannot return the sensor, very disappointing.

The resistance across the terminals at room temperature should be around 4500 ohms. I tested the resistance with a multimeter and it was 36000 ohms.
