I bought this 3 years ago for my 2018 forester and it has started to develop a loud internal rattle and is rusting out excessively. The weld around the flange is looking like its starting to fail. The fitment of the hangers isn't the best with the forward hanger making contact with the underbody. I wouldn't recommend this over the OEM if you are looking for a good long term solution.

Installed in 2020 on 2015 Forester. This muffler was ok to install aside from getting the old rusty parts cleaned out of the car. I have no lift but the muffler is relatively easy to get to on the 2015 Forester. It is a little louder than OEM but much cheaper. It is now August 2024 (156,000 miles on the car) and the muffler along with most of the other exhaust parts are rotted out. Considering the cost of Walker vs OEM, I would say that the life was acceptable. OEM lasted 5 years and Walker lasted 4 years. I'm in PA with loads of salt used on the roads in the winter which probably is the primary cause of the parts rotting out.

This muffler was hundreds of dollars cheaper than going to a shop to have it replaced. Not knowing what to expect, I bought it and it was easy to install. It is almost as quiet as the factory muffler. It fit perfectly. No modifications were necessary, it bolted in place and the whole job took about a half hour. You don't need to be a mechanic to do this job. I'm very glad I bought this. Don't forget to buy the replacement gasket for the flange.

Bought this muffler new in 2020. 4 years later its falling apart. The quality of the stainless steel is about the worst ive ever seen. I question that its actually stainless steel at all.For anyone buying this i suggest putting on several coats of high temp paint before installing ,or just not buy it.

The hardest part was getting the old damaged muffler out. After that it was perfect. Less bulky than the original Subaru muffler so it was easier to install with the existing hanger assemblies. More room to work!

2015 Forester installation. I was immediately concerned when I saw the size of the Walker muffler compared to the Subaru muffler – it was about 2/3 the size and was oval as compared to the Subaru that was triangular. The noise is not too bad at higher RPM’s but it's quite noisy at 1.5 to 2.2k rpm. After about 4 months I got tired of the noise and replaced it with the much more expensive Subaru muffler. The hangers and the flange did line up perfectly though.
