This switch solves a years' long problem for me: a fan stuck on turbo speed with no pull strings, remote, or transmitter. Yes, I could've simply bought a new fan but my ceilings are very high and the previous owner had wired the exisiting fan such that the downlight and the fan were on two separate switches. With this switch, I can now enjoy 4 different fan speeds efectively solving my problem. That said, the numbers on the switch defy conventional wisdom. The 1-4 settings do NOT go from lowest to highest but highest to lowest. That is 1=ultra turbo fan and 4=barely a breeze. I'm also fairly certain that my fan is only supposed to be a 3 speed fan so Im mot sure how that works out but setting "3" seems to be most reasonable. Also, the wire caps are very shallow so I had to add some electric tape to secure them. Ultimately, I'm satisfied that this device appears to have solved a major annoyance for me.
