Very sturdy. Got this for my husband when he is working outside, mowing or fishing. Now he wears it everytime he is outside. It protects him from the super hot sun and keeps him cool. It has retained it's shape and he doesn't sweat nearly as much as he would with a normal hat. He also says it is comfortable and doesn't feel hot, itchy or heavy.

I wear a 7 3/8 fitted hat, i ordered a med /large and the inner draw string adjustment makes it fit perfectly. Very well made hat. Very light and allows air circulation.

My husband was not one to wear hats until he got skin cancer on his ear. I found this great hat that he feels comfortable wearing. It has great coverage and blocks harmful sun rays with the lining in the brim! Great hat!

I have a 23.25in head and this hat just barely fits (as advertised). I purchased primarily for sun protection, but I also like to look good while I'm wearing a hat. The straw weave looks very nice, along with the brown band. I believe the (greenish?) tan trim is meant to be less conspicuous, but maybe a lighter brown would have been better. I have no use for the inner string size adjuster, but would be helpful if you have a smaller head. NOTE...the entire hat is lined inside (for sun protection) and is not foldable/packable. It has four little vent holes, but they are not as effective as if the top had openings all around the sides...one of the main drawbacks. A little over $50, a bit overpriced for what it is.

This is a very nice hat with a decent size brim to keep the sun out of your eyes and off your ears. Light weight. Cotton lining keeps it cool. My husband removed the chin strap. Hat is so light that the first stiff breeze blew it off. Had to chase it down. Chin strap is somewhat difficult to put back once removed. Eyelets are pretty small and floppy. Best advice is to leave it on and tuck it up in the hat.

This Panama-style Fedora with a 3" brim is completely lined with stiff cloth to keep its shape. There are 4 vent holes. The hat finish is a natural loose weave seagrass, which has a rustic look. Great for everyday wear. I really like the darker tan color. I often wondered how long bright white will stay white. The detachable chin strap is nice to have if you are on a boat or in a breezy place. There is a drawstring for sizing. My size is 7-1/4 and the medium/large fits perfectly. I am very happy with the hat.

This is a great hat. The large fits my husband’s XXXL head. The only thing I didn’t notice was that this hat is rigid and isn’t packable, I assumed they all were.

Purchased for my husband who wanted protection from the sun, but didn't want to look like an old farmer. This is an attractive hat that fits the bill. The only surprise was the green fabric rim around the brim of the hat. Not a deal breaker, but the hat might look better if this fabric was a more muted tan to match the rest of the hat. All in all, satisfied with this purchase.

I'd had a straw hat for many, many years with a wider brim and had looked in stores on occasion but everything I saw was basically a fashion fedora. The weave of my previous hat was open-air cross ventilation along the top sides. To make a long story short, it was the best coverage for me in the sun. However, it had become quite tattered as you might imagine and was in need of replacement.I pored over the hats here on Amazon and read reviews as I'm sure you do. I saw one hat that looked more akin to my previous hat and was less than half the cost of this one, but the reviews on it were marginal in some respects, so I kept looking. Anyway, this arrived in the appropriate time window and I tried it on. The feel was so much nicer than my old hat. It has some small punched holes for ventilation on the top and a lanyard - a feature I hadn't had before and wasn't necessarily looking for.Having said all this, I have had this for 2-3 weeks and use it regularly. It is comfortable, well constructed and doesn't make my head hot. If it does get warm, I can easily slip it off with the lanyard. The quality of the weave is far superior to my less costly hat and, it appears, others on the prime wardrobe site. One feature in this is a tie for the cloth band inside that goes around the base of the hat. In some respects, it helps secure it on the head as needed. This is worth the price and will serve you well for years to come.I would buy this again and will likely be looking at Wallaroo for a replacement straw hat for my wife soon.
