Your cart is empty.Walton’s traditional Irish bodhráns are made from genuine goatskin. As goatskin is a natural material it can vary in color and texture. Over time, and with use, the design applique on the face of your bodhrán can begin to separate from the fibres of the goatskin and may flake off. The design on the bodhrán head can be preserved for an extended period of time with the use of the ‘Walton’s Bodhrán Care Cream’. Walton’s range of decorated bodhráns offers customers a chance to become familiar with the ancient drum for a fraction of the usual cost. Our bodhráns are intended for use by beginner players, or as a beautiful decorative piece for your home.

Resembles a toy more than a musical instrument... but it IS a musical instrument. Think of it as analogous to the smallest of several sizes and tones of Indian flutes.

it was purchased for a 91 birthday gift,and the person was delighted. we go to drum circles here in florida it was here in time for his birthday very fast delivery considering it came all the way from ireland

This was a beautiful little drum. Good for goofing around to see if you like it before purchasing a more expensive bodhran, but tone quality is terrible and size is small. Great for occasional rather than frequent use.

The drum is lovely decoration, but it is advertised as an instrument. I have purchased two, and both broke almost immediately. The skin is very thin, and when you try to play it (with the included beater) it just tears to shreds. I contacted Waltons and received no reply. Very disappointed.Update: The customer service from CDWorld is exceptional. They are replacing the bodhran I bought from them at no cost. The second was purchased in Ireland, so I had originally contacted the manufacturer, and I have still not received any reply from Waltons. But CDWorld answered right away, and took care of the problem immediately. I would not hesitate to shop with them again.

I ordered this item April 10, 2016, and the design I received matched neither the one that appears on the item page nor the one that appears when the item is placed in the shopping cart. The Carew Cross design, pictured below, is the one I received (still very attractive and entirely satisfactory).

I wanted a Bodhran made in Ireland, these Walton's have met my expectations , I also have the thistle 8 inch , both have correct sound and very well made as well as lovely decoration ! Enjoy any size you want to purchase , my opinion you won't be disappointed!
