This warming mat is great for family gatherings. Frees up oven when preparing meals....so the mashed potatoes don't get cold while you're preparing the gravy, and the rolls stay warm while you're carving the ham....you get the picture. It then continues to keep food warm on the food table. Warm to the touch but not enough to burn anyone. And the aesthetic is neutral so fits any setting. Heats up fast and even. It doesn't heat the surface underneath, which is critical as we've had similar concepts heat up our countertops to the point of cracking. The shutoff timer is very convenient too. When done doing its duty, it conveniently rolls up for easy storage.

I ordered this warming pad primarily for entertaining so I could keep foods at the proper temperatures, although I also planned using it if I'm making multiple loaves of bread. I was really impressed with the quality of the product as well as its versatility with a wide range of temperature settings and the 4 hour warming time. The roll-up feature is nice as the warming tray is quite large and rolling it up takes very little space. This warming pad is perfect for larger family gatherings as well as parties. Thanks to the design of the warming pad, it's also very portable so you can take it with you for holiday family gatherings.

The purpose of this heating mat was to help bread dough to rise when the temperature in the house is cool. It worked perfectly, but I've used it to keep tortillas warm when serving fajitas and it heats quickly, thoroughly and the mat is easy to clean.

My teen daughter has tried all winter to make sourdough, but our Midwest home is just too chilly for it to proof and rise like it's supposed to despite her best attempts. I showed her this warming mat that I recently go for when I host dinner parties and told her that it has low temperatures that might work well for her breadmaking.She got it out, started reading over the instruction booklet, and then started hooting and hollering when she realized the lowest setting would be perfect for her bread. She sets it on there and presto--for once it is rising just like it is supposed to! No more bread bricks!This warming mat is genius! It has feet to keep it off counter so the heat isn't on the counter surface, and the control pad is on one edge. You can set the temperature along with the timer, and then forget about it. It is perfect for keeping rolls warm, appetizers and dips warm, and even main courses hot. I am so impressed with this that I'm going to buy it for housewarming and wedding gifts.

This Food Warming Mat is such a genius idea! With so many brands available, I chose this one for its perfect size, LCD temperature display, and lock button, which prevents someone from accidentally turning it off while reaching for some food. The only downside for me was the branding on the top of the mat, but it's a small issue I can overlook given how well it performs. It arrived just in time for our Super Bowl party, and it did not disappoint! The mat heated up to the set temperature faster than I expected, and the pad itself got pretty hot to the touch. It kept the food lukewarm throughout the event, though not as hot as it would be fresh off the stove or oven. Still, it did a great job maintaining a comfortable temperature for longer periods. One important thing to note: make sure the power cord is fully seated in the mat. Ours wasn’t initially, and at one point, I noticed it wasn’t on because the cord had been knocked loose. That caused the food to not be warmed for a while.Overall, this is a great food warmer, especially for events or gatherings. It’s convenient, practical, and ensures your food stays at a safe temperature. Just keep an eye on the power cord, and you're all set!

I wasn't planning to order this, then gave it more thought. My animals now eat raw, organic food. It needs to be slightly warmed, though, for optimal digestion. I use a coffee cup warmer for my cat's serving, though it overheats easily and, too often, I'll not get there soon enough before it's overcooked. (She doesn't even want it.) So, I experimented. The dog's bowl I usually heat with a sink of hot water. That's a waste of water by the time it warms, though. So, I purchased this. It works really well, and even warms the cat's little bowl through more evenly and gently. I love that the temperature is clear and easily adjustable. If the dog's food is still slightly frozen coming out of the refrigerator, I just raise the temperature more. There are six options, beginning with 104º and going up 18º each time. Today, I tested it with my bowl of oatmeal and fruit. I've gotten away from microwaving, as possible, as it kills a vital component to the food, which is called prana. For time, I make instant oatmeal in serving packs, then add frozen organic fruit. Today, I added boiling water, then let it sit at 104º. That was too low and wasn't defrosting the frozen fruit, so I went up a couple of temperature clicks (140º). That worked pretty well, fully cooking the oatmeal and enjoying a warm bowl, instead of slightly frozen fruit! For a large family, this size would be great (about 24" x 15"). About half that size would be ideal for me. It stores nicely, yet I just leave it on my counter because I now use it throughout each day.

Lots of uses, though it might be to warm as is for some things. Easy fix as you can set your dough, cultures, etc. a little higher on something instead of directly on the heating surface. Good size.
