I had heard people using these and having a bad issue with wasp I decided to try them. I did as recommended and removed any existing nest in the area. They are easy to assemble. They ship flat. You use the wire insert to hold the top and bottom apart and open. It comes with a small string to tie it with. I modified mine with black duck tape. I covered the top and bottom openings and even used a long piece to stick to the string to tape and staple it in place to keep it from falling in the extreme weather conditions they may face.It hasn't really been all that long, but I have noticed a drop in the pesky critters. I did have one not make it through a storm and within 24 hours a wasp was there trying to build a nest so I will take care of it and put the decoy back. So far I am thoroughly impressed!

Every year I put up paper lanterns to discourage carpenter bees and wasps from nesting around my porch. These are so much sturdier and prettier. Not waterproof but still look fine after being rained on. Inside wire support is not hard to assemble at all and give great structure. The wind actually blew one away, and after the storm we found it and it still looks usable. As for effectiveness... the wasps and bees have not built any nests. I'm not seeing carpenter bees at all, so that's probably a win. The red wasps are checking out the porch area several days in a row, and do fly right up to the fake hornet's nest so I can't tell if it fools them or not. However they have not actually started building a nest so I'm calling that a win. In past years the paper lanterns did discourage them so I know the concept is effective.

These wasp nests look real. Can’t say how they are working, cause it’s still cold, rainy, and very windy.

My husband laughed at me when I got these... He said he had done his research and these don't actually repel anything because supposedly wasps don't see color or some shiz... Well, lo and behold! We got out of the car yesterday and he goes, "Ya know, I haven't really seen the red wasps flying around as much..." I wonder why that is!! :D Needless to say, they work just fine for what they are intended for. Now I need to add one to the back porch to keep that area free from those spicy pests....

These fake wasps nests seem to be working so far.I hung a few in my heavily wasp/hornet visited yard and although I’ve seena few flying around none have started building nests, so I ampretty sure these are the reason.Although they seem a little flimsy, they aren’t. I had one blow across the yard and get rained on,and there was no damage to it at all. They come six in a pack, and with my small yard I’mstocked for a few years!

These really do look like wasp nests. Since carpenter bees are so territorial and we have so many of them in the area I live I thought this would be a good alternative to traps. We do currently have traps and they work well but they are expensive where these are not. Super easy to assemble as they just come flattened out and you pull them apart to pop them open. The size is right on par with a normal sized wasp nest.

I ordered these nests because I read about how well decoy nests work for controlling wasps. These nests are very affordable and easy to set up. They can be hung from branches or fences. They are made from durable water resistant material and can stand up to the elements. I have definitely noticed a decrease in wasps around my property. Overall, I am very happy with these!

Humidity and rain destroyed the integrity of the paper nest. These are basically paper lanterns designed to look like a wasp nest. They were cute when I first put them up, lasted for awhile, then we had several days of rain, sun then hight humidity, which tore the paper.
