The item may work, worth 5 stars, BUT. Ordering it from Amazon was a big mistake, as they will NOT allow me to return. Reason for return is this unit is no longer compatible with the 2025 Weber Spirit II grill. Only with earlier Spirit grills. Package was opened but only directions read, nothing else removed. And yet Amazon would not allow a return. Very disappointed with Amazon.UPDATE: Must have been a 'glitch' in Amazons system. Went to "chat" on Amazon, and problem was quickly RESOLVED. Return and reimbursement was accepted. Thank you Amazon!

This is a great addition to the Weber gas grill we bout. It allows you to remotely check temperatures without lifting the lid.

Instructions were a little confusing then I used the Bilt app. Made things a lot easier. I have the Genesis II so it was a bit more complicated. Works well though. Don’t have to keep opening the grill.

I gave this to my son when I purchased a new Weber grill for him. I have it on my Weber grill and love it. It has saved many an expensive cut of beef. He has now also become a huge fan! The phone app is great as you do not have to be tethered to your grill. It is accurate and has many great settings and features.

Great combo of battery pack, monitor and probes with phone apps. However, the hardware was designed for Webber Grills, and isn’t adaptable to other grill brands. The monitor and battery pack would be more useful if a magnet could be mounted on their backs to attach to other brands. The iOS app works well.

I love the graphing feature in the app that helps you see just how well your food is cooking. Definitely takes much of the guess work out of “is my meat cooked yet?”.Might be a bit difficult or cumbersome to use for those not tech savvy but I didn’t have any problems maintaining my Bluetooth connection several feet away and through a brick wall.

UPDATE: I sent a note to Weber customer service about this and they sent me a replacement unit. The replacement does not seem to have this problem. It works fine and never unexpectedly disconnects any longer. Upgraded my rating from 3 to 5.———I really want to like this device. It fits well with my Weber grill and when it works, it works really well.But what I've found is if the ambient temperature rises somewhere above 87 or so degrees Fahrenheit, that's when the Bluetooth connection starts failing. The device randomly disconnects from the app and starts blinking. Sometimes it will reconnect after a little bit on its own. Many times it won't. Turning it off and back on will sometimes get it to reconnect.I've been able to test my theory by cooling it down with an ice pack when it won't hold a stable connection. It indeed becomes stable and works properly from then on.So, buyer beware. This product seems to have a design defect. If you are in a cooler climate and/or don't mind keeping an icepack on it when the temperature heats up, you'll love it. Otherwise, you might want to give it a pass.

I can BBQ without concern of overcooking, the app is easy to use and as a bonus it connects to my Apple watch through my phone so that extends my range for connectivity.Wish there was a case to keep the probes stored in.

I consider myself an experienced griller and BBQ enthusiast. I purchased this accessory for my Weber grill, as I also have a Kamado smoker next to my Weber, so I can get a lot of use from the temp gauge. In the 3 months since I purchased this device, I have used it for the following cooks:-chicken drumsticks-ribs-pork butt/pulled pork-reverse seared tomahawk steaks-beef brisket-kielbasa-pork chopsIf you are someone who worries about whether your grilled food is cooked all the way through, this is a good tool to have. If you are experienced, this tool can help take your food to the next level.I see a lot of heartburn regarding the Bluetooth connectivity, I have not had any issues (iPhone XR), even with the brick home in which I live. I have even gone upstairs in the house and can still keep an eye on the temperature.This will wear down your smartphone battery, so if you want to perform an overnight cook, I recommend probing in the morning.The app itself allows you to save different cooks and take pictures, and write descriptions, essentially giving you a catalogue of all your previous cooks. This can be beneficial if you want to throw a huge cookout and want to get the timing down to serve food; you can easily reference past cooks to determine a timeline.
