I specifically ordered this because it was supposed to be corded electric. (First image.) As you can see in the second and third images, it's powered by a AA battery.

The glass is extremely fragile. The glass broke at the slightest provocation. The clock was on a table using the attached base. The clock was knocked over backwards and the glass on the front broke into multiple long shards.I thought the gears would move along with the hands of the clock but the gears are decorative.It comes well packed.

I should have realized that for the low price, the visible gears on this clock would not move; but the description was very short, and the price low, so I ordered. This is a nice big clock, AA battery operated, and it does have an alarm. It is a very attractive clock, large and easy to read. Westclox is a brand that is trusted, and it does appear sturdy and durable. I really wanted to watch the gears turn as the clock operated, but that was not the case. It is still a very nice clock, and I would recommend it to anyone who would like a larger, attractive, analog clock with alarm.

Everybody needs to know the time. So if it’s a gift for yourself or someone else you are a hero either way. This is a super unique looking clock that will just make the whole room with its cool and modern look. The colors are very smooth and bright for what they are and have a nice finish overall. It’s not as large as I was expecting but it makes for a really nice clock to have on your desk. The numbers/designs are very visible and it’s not overly heavy and bulky which was a nice change of pace! Very good price for an outstanding gift or conversation piece.

I guess if I had looked at the pictures of the clock on the ad I would have realized that the grey gears are not real. Even the black gears that are attached to the minute, second, and hour hands are purely decorative. So none of the gears you see do anything. The clock has a see-through face so if there is a dark background it becomes harder to see the hour, second, and minute hands. From a distance of six feet and beyond it becomes difficult to determine the time because it’s hard to see the hands distinctively at that distance. If the gears worked I might have kept it but they don’t and I didn’t. The alarm does not work well if it was 2:40 I could not set it for 3:00 because the alarm would go off go off immediately. It would also be very difficult to set an alarm because you rotate the alarm arm to the preferred time. You’d probably would have a window of 10 minutes within which the alarm would go off.
