In there description stated, it works for both cats and dogs. However, the sensors are mainly for dogs, so the licking, scratching, and drinking water, will only show up for dogs when it says it will work for cats to. IT does not! If you are buying this for your dog, then its the best, however, it is not good for cats.

Love the product. Ordered new one when first one no longer worked. It took some time to get assistance from company to determine why first device stopped working. Apparently my pets info was deleted when the trial subscription provided by my vet expired. Returned new whistle when old unit was reconnected. Everything working again!

It’s fairly easy to use but it’s also not the most accurate. If you’re tracking your walks or fetch times with your dog then it’s fine. However, what it doesn’t track well is when your dog is either having a wrestling session with its buddy or tug of war play session then it doesn’t seem to record them. One other thing to add, the band the device come with does not stay on. It keeps coming off. Something they need to fix.UPDATE: 6 month after use the data stopped syncing. Also, the accuracy of the walks started to be off quite a bit. Example: I took my dog on a long (route that we've done many times), about 3.8 miles. The tracker only tracked 2.5 miles of that walk. It stop recording her drinking, eating, sleeping...basically everything it said it is supposed to do. I canceled my subscription as after only 6 month use the data on the device would not sync or not sync correctly and gather data correctly...it's hard to trust a device like this. I wish I could return this but since I can't, only thing I can do is update my review and downgrade the rating.

I got a Whistle Fit device from the Pet Insight Project for my older dog. It works great, I love all the stats, and the app is great as well. So, when my other two dogs' Fi collar subscriptions were about to run out, I decided to try the Whistle Health device (what appears to be the successor to the Whistle Fit) as I'm not really worried about the GPS tracking but think the health insights are fun/interesting. Well, as I don't found out, the Whistle Health lacks a very important feature that the older Whistle Fit has - it doesn't connect to WiFi and is Bluetooth only! So it only shows your pets activity when you are right next to them, and that's not guaranteed either. I had to basically force the app to connect to the devices, and even then it didn't upload properly. It would usually show the previous 2-7 days as blank, "No Data Collected". It also usually showed "Not enough data for a trend" on the scratching, licking, sleeping, etc. And I never got a Wellness Score for either pet. Keep in mind that these are all just things that happen perfectly for the third dog's Whistle Fit, which just uploads over WiFi. Reading another review, I see it might be related to phone type (ie. an issue with Android phones?) but I'm obviously not changing phones. I ultimately ended up returning the devices. I'll either pay the ridiculous subscription fee for Fi, or just not have any tracker/health monitor at all.

The used ones on Amazon do not have the factory charging cable and therefore you cannot reset them! Shame on me for not reading that I guess.
